in all my years watching college football, i can't remember a player that stupid in a situation so big.

Could be ranked #1 and the guy just loses his mind. Wow. Kinda feel bad for Cal. That was brutal.

You think they should have kicked it with :14 to go? I guess that wouldn't be a bad call, but I don't mind them going for the win considering they had a backup QB playing for them and OSU was moving the ball on their D.

I said college football.

And this is such a basic thing to wing it out of the end zone, this is worse. This guy is from Cal. He's no dummy. Chris Webber is a dummy.

And I'm tired of the Chris Webber argument. Everyone blames him for them losing the championship. Even if he doesn't call it, theres no guarantee they win the game. They are a dog to do so.

I think you play for the OT in that situation.
Backup QB wanted to be the hero. With no timeouts the lack of instructions to throw it away were never mentioned to him.

You're right. I misread that.

Fact of the matter is, this kid should have never been put in a position for this to happen. The ball should have been spiked and play for OT.

I think you're dead on. Going for it on 4th and 2 earlier didnt help. They couldnt get on downs 1-3, what makes them think they'll get it on 4th?
