thinking about the champ game and the long layoff for both teams from their last game until they see the field again (JAN 6th).....and how it will change each team individually....curious to see how other people see it....
the long layoff will effect both teams...right?? but I think it will hurt auburn more then the Seminoles.....FSU seems to be more of the dominant team, blowing most of their opponents out, and rarely having to play their starters an entire game....they have been preseason favs since early in the season and continued to just impress voters with their consistent play from week 1....they seem to be the more complete team and have talent all over....they could walk out and play anytime anywhere simply because of their athleticism and playmakers...They are a team that a layoff shouldn't effect....they have been in the spotlight all year long, been in the BCS CHAMP GAME talk all year, and had cameras all around with the J WINSTON ordeal....they are not afraid of the big stage at this point...and like stated above, they have had many occasions were they basically went 2-3 weeks without being challenged, which mentally and physically is almost like having a long layoff...
with auburn, there is also lots to like.......however, they appeared to be a team really riding the momentum, and seemed to be a team destined to continue winning games....as long as they continued to play...I just fear that this team needed constant gametime to keep their emotions high and not give them time to really overthink the situation and fall victim to the bright lights.....they were riding higher then perhaps any team I have seen play, after miraculous wins over Georgia and Bama, both of which were late game comebacks that involved plays that we will probably never see again....atleast in those circumstances.........the big thing in auburns favor, they have a running game unlike almost any we have ever seen, and it is much easier to run the ball without as many game reps in a few weeks then It is to gain back the rhythm of the passing game which depends greatly on timing and game reps...I really think the AU players believe they are a team of destiny like they have said....but will some of that confidence and those emotions start to fade/change with so much time between?
Just curious to see what some of the AU or FSU guys think about this and if anyone knows what any of the coaching staffs are doing to try and help these young kids from being distracted and to stay focused and driven like they were preparing for a game tomorrow.....only having to do it everyday for the next 30 days......
(On another note, completely random....id rather of seen BAMA VS STANFORD....I think that woulda been more exciting for me then the champ game...I have been wanting to see these two teams meet for a few years now....)
typed this on phone so apologies if it is a mess....
