Bos./Ott. - Hurme is the starter in nets for the Sens as Lalime gets a much needed rest. Havlat returns from his groin injury & Redden returns from the flu. The only regular out of the line-up is Mike Fisher. There is an outside chance that McEachern might miss the game with a sore groin, if so Chris Bala has been recalled from Grand Rapids. No confirmation on Dafoe being in nets for the Bruins but Grahame started the last game so I would imagine Dafoe will get the start.

Sens are coming off back to back losses against the Habs. Sens never really matched the desperation level the Habs played with trying to make the playoffs. Now that the Sens are in a must win situation so as to not drop to 7th in the conference and have a tougher first round match up I look for a solid 60 minute effort from the Sens.

As well, consider a different angle as Roger Neilson will be behind the bench for the Sens as head coach as Jacques Martin will be in the press box for the remaining 2 games to allow Roger to coach in 1000 all time games. The players respect this man so much that I can not see the Sens coming out flat. They will play with so much emotion and desperation that it will be too much for the Bruins who will end up either first or second in the conference and can't fall any further back. This is a different scenario of playing the team in their first game with a new coach. With Roger having the official tag as head coach for the last 2 games I am going with the Sens in a 4-1 win.

Playing :

Ott. - PK.(-135)

Great night last night Horns, hard for me to judge this team, blew some games they should have won. But you'd think they'd want these last two going into the playoffs playing well.

Good luck tonight :)

Horns...First off - GREAT night last night. Congrats to you!

As far as Boston's goaltending, Ftorek rarely tells the press who's in net so it's usually during the pre-game that I finally hear who's in net.

You make some good points about Neilson coaching game #999 and the B2B losses to the Canadiens. Although previous games show these two get together and score goals in bunches, I don't think it happens tonight. Boston has tightened up defensively and are playing in "playoff mode" giving up more than 2 goals only twice in their last 7 games. Last Sat's Ranger game was the only real dismal game, giving up 6 in that one. The other game was last Sunday's 3-2 OT loss to the Devils. So the problem from this side seems to be scoring goals. Boston's only scored 25 in their last 10 while Ottawa has scored 24 in their last 10. The Sens "D" has given up only 27 in the same period.

I would expect to see a low scoring 3-1/2-2 type of game.

As far as a side...Both teams are coming off of a bad stretch of games and would like to change going into the playoffs with more positive results.

Ottawa has the emotional factor of winning for Neilson while Boston needs only 1 point to clinch home ice in the Eastern Conference...

I'm passing on the side and leaning towards the under if I can find it at 5 goals tonight.

Good luck tonight

mugs,

Thanks for the input. Great points about the Bruins and scoring goals. The more I look at this game the more I will take a pass on the total. You might be right about the total so I will leave it alone. As for the side, I really like the Sens and of couse I am playing this side with my head and not my heart. I am not afraid to go against the Sens. But in this scenario the players all commented on emotion of the last game and how it will be emotional for them tonight but not nearly in the same regard as Koivu. Still going hard on the Sens. GL tonight!

good luck Horns, got this from slam, which is pretty good about putting up info after the morning skate, here it is:

"Senators LW Shawn McEachern, a Boston native and former Bruin, will sit this one out with a groin injury. It's the first game he has missed all season, leaving Radek Bonk as the only Senator to suit up for them all ... Martin Havlat will also miss his sixth game in a row with a groin problem. Havlat did skate for almost two hours this morning, however, suggesting he would dress if it was a playoff game ... Wade Redden will miss his second game in a row with the flu ...
"What we want to do is play like we did in the third period against Montreal," Jacques Martin said of Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Habs, in which Ottawa won the final 20 minutes by a 3-1 count. "We were very effective. We forechecked well. That's the key." ... Jani Hurme will start in goal tonight for the Senators ... Byron Dafoe is expected to go for the Bruins ... The Senators have juggled lines because of the injuries, and Bill Muckalt was skating with Radek Bonk and Marian Hossa this morning."

hope this helps---later

Horns,

I hope the Sens pull through for you. Both teams have been erratic lately, so it's a pass for me. I played the Sens ml (-120) for the first period, hoping the momentum they started in the third period on Tues. with Montreal will carry through tonight...plus the emotional factors you stated.

Good luck!

prestidig, ron & chenker - Thanks.

ron - I wish it seemed as easy as it looks sometimes. I follow the Sens inside out and therefore watch alot of other teams, but it is always an up and down year. You just hope their are more ups.

chenker - Fridays card has alot of value as you mentioned. I might play as many as 6 games.
