Take a walk through the NEW ENGLAND Schedule, and you'll soon see why they were able to make this claim. The best offense they faced all season was week 1 vs Arizona who ended the season ranked #6 in scoring offense. They pulled out a late win 23-21 in Arizona with Zona scoring 5 pts under their season average. They only two teams on their entire schedule that made the top 10 Scoring offenses in NFL were Buffalo and Pittsburgh, tied for 10th at 24.9. Buffalo scored 16-0 win in Foxboro, then put up 25 at home in a loss. Pittsburgh lost without Big Ben, scoring only 16 points, then lost in AFC Game when Bell left in 1st qtr, and the Steelers players left their hands in the locker room.
That's it.... no other quality offense faced by their vaunted (over-rated) defense. Seattle was able to go into Foxboro and put up 31 in their win, coming off a BYE week, a once thought to be legend that Bellichek never loses when having two weeks to prepare.... ummmm yes he does. So you see, there's no chance this NEW ENGLAND defense can stop ATLANTA, NONE. I know ATLANTA lost to Tampa Bay, and I read how Scrapman is convinced that history will continue to repeat itself, but facts are facts.... numbers don't lie. NEW ENGLAND got their ranking playing vs the bottom feeders of the NFL scoring wise. Now they face #1

Jan 14 vs Houston WINS 34-16 Houston was in game til late, lost closer than score
Jan 22 vs Steelers WINS 36-17 Steelers lose Bell in 1st quarter..... game over
10 games out of 16 played vs the 10 WORST SCORING OFFENSES in the NFL....
Meanwhile, ATLANTA had two games total vs the bottom 10, beating Rams 42-14 & SF 41-13 in weeks 13-14. Atlanta also faced #2 Saints TWICE, #4 Packers TWICE, #6 Cardinals, #7 Oakland, and #9 CHARGERS. Atlanta faced a much more difficult schedule on the defensive side, instead of beating up on the bottom ten, they faced TOP 15 offenses in 10 of their 16 games. I believe the ATLANTA defense is battle tested, Quinn coached the DEFENSE in SEATTLE when they faced Brady two years ago, and he will have a plan ready to attack. I know that Bill will have his team prepared as always, will likely look to "take away" Jones, but with the two headed monster ATL has in the backfield, I don't see that working. I expect PATS to run a lot early in hopes of taking time off the clock, reducing ATL chances of having the ball, so Blount will probably get a bunch of carries as will Dion Lewis in change of tempo.
Won't be surprised to see a lower scoring 1st Half than expected, thinking more like 13-10. I also will not be surprised if Brady and Company figure out a way to win another close game in FEB.... however, I will be shocked if this TEASER fails: :scared
