Saw the good Dr attempt to give a talk while an undergrad at Iowa in the mid 80s. He was 30 minutes late to speak and the sound system sucked so those in the back couldn't understand him. He drank a whole bottle of wild turkey in the hour he was on stage and took a huge drag off a joint that someone in the audience handed him after jumping on stage.
Many of us in the audience were drinking and smoking pot ourselves and the scene got a little wild by the end.
