A buddy of mine had a few too many and made a wager with me...He gave me 5-1 odds that I couldn't turn $10 into $100...my deadline is the last day of the regular baseball season...I risk $800...if I win I take down $4,000, if I lose I right a check for $800...he said he is going to buy the entire bar on the last night of the baseball season a round on me losing...obviously if I lose the $10 before the end of the season then I have to get the check book out...if at any point in time I get to the $100 plateau all I have to do is say, "I win"...I figure I have pretty good odds here but I must play aggressively...I am not allowed to play more than 3 plays in a day (ever)...Worst case, as long as I am at $50 by the last day of the season I can wager 1 play to win (that gives me a 50/50 chance at every game on the board at 5-1 odds, in which case I would have one hell of a hedge opportunity...anyway I think this has the potential to be fun throughout the summer and I chose to put all plays in this thread till the end of college hoops then I will move it to MLB...I could lose my ass in the first 3 or 4 days and its over...gonna have 2 plays tonight...gl guys

are parlays allowed? you really need get yourself to the 20 dollar range before you start doing stuff like a +163........so i would parlay like a couple of teams in the -300 odds just to get myself going, and reduce the risk of me going broke. Then if you get to 25-30 bucks you can start doing your normal style of betting.

parlays are allowed...if I see better oppurtunities to parlay than the plays I had today I will...just trying to pick winners the best I can...as far as the +163 game goes...the Marlins should have been favored today, that was a gift (the gifts are there in the spring games if your patient and do your homework)...if I could play a 4th game today I would play OAK -120 later tonight (by the looks of it I should of played them instead of NCST)...I will be on em for a nickel any how...2-0 so far today, need NCST to get their shit together a bit in the 2nd half...I do agree the key to this whole deal is getting to the $25-$30 range, that and I will feel much better when baseball is in full gear (20 games in or so)...thanks for the advice...gl today

If parlays area allowed, then "Tankapalooza" in NBA is your friend, especially if you are allowed to carry over open parlays into the next day or days.

I know it is risky but I would be using larger ML parlays to try to build the bankroll since that is the key to winning this. Most of the bets I will suggest I do not typically bet (or can't with my providers) but this is a different situation. If you can literally do any parlay I would be using large ML favorites to try to build the bankroll. Small payouts, but small risk also. The key is not to bust early. Once you build the bankroll some, I would then continue that strategy while adding more risky ML pars with big payouts. Then you can add a $1 while betting a $1 to win exponentially. If I was making the rules, I would have never let you do this, but if there are truly no parlay restrictions this is how to win the bet.

I hear ya, wisky can blur ur vision at times but a bet is a bet...this thing is really more about serving my friend a big shit burger at some point this summer...I only frequent my local watering hole once a month these days but this wager was apparently the talk around the bar today...I did forget to mention all lines are through 5d?s...so any suggested action must be available through them...thanks for the advice

The idea is based on fading tanking teams who are purposely losing for better draft position. There are a certain group of teams in the NBA that are outwardly tanking... Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Sacramento, Phoenix and Memphis. Any night you can parlay two or more of these teams opponents on the same night, you should go for it. The Knicks claim they are not tanking, however their recent record and lineup decisions would say otherwise. I am treating them as a tank team on most night, though others aren't, but I follow them closely enough to know which nights not to play against them. These teams are purposely manipulating lineups late in games by using player groupings with poor on-court ratings to make their chances of winning as low as possible. The players still play hard, but the outcome is inevitable on most nights. The end of the Heat/Kings game was a perfect example last night. They were up by as much as 13 win 6 minutes to go... then certain substitutions were made and the lead quickly evaporated. A word of caution would be to take it easy on fading those tanking teams playing at home. Dallas, for example, has shown that they still try to win games in front of their home crowd, despite their owner having already publicly stated that it would be best if his team lost games for better draft position. Other bad teams like Brooklyn and the Lakers are still trying because they don't have their draft picks and, thus, are not tanking. Parlaying the opponents of multiple tanking teams when on the road in the same night is the optimal situation. We had one such night on Tuesday.

Anyway, lots of info here...probable too much. If you have any questions, feel free to venture into the NBA forum and ask away before laying big numbers on any heavy favorites. The Sixers coming up here at the half could be a nice 2H play as the Knicks are leading at the moment and their coach has been making some "questionable" substations in the 2H.
