Now that the regular seaon is basically over in college football except for a handful of games, I will start capping the NFL. Historically I have found the NFL to be much tougher to cap than college and I have never been able to put my finger on why it is so much tougher to cap. Here are my plays for today and if someone thinks one of my games is totally off please let me know so I can reevaluate it.
Giants under 37, have to figure that the Giants will play it conservative here trying to protect Manning with the running game thus shortening the length of the game.
Washington under 36.5
Bengals-5.5, the Browns are a mess with the offensive line other than Faine and Verba being staffed with Arena League players. Suggs is doubtful with a foot injury and William Green failed to show up for one practice/meeting this week so he was fined. Davis is a lame duck coach whom is gone at the end of the year and will more than likely be replaced by either Weis or Crennel. Browns will toss Kelly Holcomb out there today and he is capable of hitting the deep ball but he is the least mobile QB in the NFL.
Minnesota-5, I am under the impression that Leftwich will be slightly rusty today after sitting out the past few weeks and he is going to have to be on top of his game to match the Vike's scores.
Carolina+3, the dog in all of Carolina's games over the past few years has covered at over a 70% clip.
Chargers over 51, no one has been able to hold down the Chargers offense this year and I do not believe the Chiefs sorry defense will be able to contain them. Also, the Chiefs will likely be passing much of the game due to Holmes injury thus the length of the game will be extended.
Saints under 46, Atlanta has the offense to control the clock and should be able to move the ball fairly well against the Saints on the ground. Hard to believe the Saints are only 1 game out of the Wildcard race and they should try to establish Deuce and the running game today.
Cards+3
Strictly a play against Quincy Carter two straight weeks on the road. I watched the Jets play last week and they won in spite of Quincy and his poor judgements. If the Cards only had a QB they would be a solid playoff contender but I think they win outright here.
Good Luck Cappers!!!!
