11 convicted in probe of sports betting ring

Eleven members of a $12 million mobile sports betting ring operating in the region were convicted of various felonies and await sentencing, Westchester District Attorney Jeanine Pirro has announced.

The convictions included attempted enterprise corruption, first-degree promoting gambling and second-degree criminal usury. The betting ring operated from different locations in Westchester, the Bronx and Nassau.

The ring was dismantled after a six-month joint investigation conducted by the county district attorney's Organized Crime and Criminal Enterprise Bureau and state police. On May 4, 36 search warrants were issued resulting in the arrest of nine people and seizure of gambling records, cash, computers, cell phones, a gun and drugs.

Funny thing is I just read about another operation based out of Clifton Nj, who used "wire rooms" In Costa Rica and had a website just got popped. The jersey ny mob has definitely infiltrated the offshore thing.

But yea you need to be using offshores. Or live in Vegas.

I've yet to see any fact that it is--would lay 2/1 this came under RICO statutes--and will be interested to see anything, other than opinion, to the contrary.

When is last time you saw MOM and POP betting shop of 12 million operating in Westchester, the Bronx and Nassau ect
