Say it ain't so encarnacion and green. The dodgers now the front runner for the world series championship put on a display that rivals the 85 bears and 90s bulls teams in manhandling the resurgent New york mets today. Scoring 13 runs put them on pace for just under 400 runs in the preseason and way over if you include the split squad games. Steinbrenner was heard cursing all through the day in his office that this is one team that he doesn't want to play in the world series. He fired three assistants today because they are spending too much time on the Red Sox instead of the dodgers. He spent an hour talking with Torre about making sure he has his pitchers set for the October Series against traceys boys. Hurry up now and jump on the +1200 for them while it lasts as it is sure to be bet down to even money tonight as the regular joes come home from work. Might even be -200 by tomorrow.
In all seriousness, they looked good today in a meaningless game and I was impressed. Green and Encarnacion got off to good starts which is always nice. The middle relief guys even looked okay. They are 1-0 which is probably the only time I can say they have the best record in baseball so I'm happy. Odds are this team will struggle to stay above .500 and in the race towards September, but that's the beauty of baseball. Every team starts off with a clean slate and a chance on April 1st. Hope its a profitable season for everyone.
