Election pundits had earlier mentioned 57% turnout as the breaking point for what Kerry needed to win. The media has been reporting lines of 3 hours in several battle ground states (in Tampa and Cleveland) and the longer lines are historically longer AFTER people get of work at 4pm so a higher than 57% turnout is a given. It's obviously a question if the pundits were correct in their earlier 57% turnout analysis.
