Just finished a 180 prefab fish pond.

Thought I would share some pics.

Tood a few days to complete.

Hardest part was 'leveling' the ground.

Construction going on across the street, so was able to 'acquire' some sand to help level bottom.

Have some goldfish and 'mosquito' fish--which eat mosquito larvae..

I feel it came out pretty good....

gonna get some monkey grass to plant around the edge of the pond to hide the liner

will move the potted plants to deeper water once they are established

looks nice. have been mulling over some ideas on doing one of those in my backyard too.

did you dig a hole into the ground for the pond liner? or just set the pond liner there and fill dirt around it?

I dug a hole about 8 inches down and filled the bottom with sand about 2 inches to level.

weight of water and liner in 'hole' about 6 inches should keep it level

Looks great!!!

I have a koi pond in my back yard with about 75 koi.... I'll give you a few hints.... Watch the water lettuce, that chit can multiply like rats in a sewer. Just don't let it take over because if you never remove any, it will eventually cover the entire surface of the pond. I have the same problem with my water hyicenths. However, they will help keep the pond clear and the fish love them.

If you want to add a few koi later on, let me know. I wouldn't mind sending you a few if you'll pay the shipping.

Also, you may want to check into some Microbe-Lift Bacteria to help keep the pond in balance...especially if you start having a problem with algae. I'm no expert, but I've had my pond for about 4-5 years, so if you have any questions, just get my e-mail from Jaek.

Looks great. I also have a koi pond in the back yard with 2 running streams for major sound, 2 pumps, bead filter and UV filtering, with 800 gallons and 12 large koi. If you have any questions let me know as well. You will love it. Taoist is correct on the lettuce, because I throw away 2-3 clumps every day throughout the summer. The hyacinth is awesome and it will flower occasionally, and the fish love eating the roots. Also, the Microbe lift will start good algae in your pond and help keep it clean. My koi love eating grapefruits cut in half that float. Next thing you know you have a rind that is cleaned out totally. Enjoy!

Looks really good, you have done an excellent job.
Looking at your handy work you're obviously a handy guy.
Having said that, and don't take this the wrong way, but, I think your whole approach at the pond would look better
underground rather than on top. ( You agree?)
I guess you did it that way 'cause it was easier, EH! I don't blame ya. All that digging and shit.

I just think those great looking bricks would benefit being exposed as though they were natural exposed.
Just think of your setting the same way but underground and having that pond on a mound.
