1st Vegas Trip...Question

Well, I'm finally popping the cherry on Vegas. Last minute, going Monday-Thurs, prob staying at bally's due to location. I'm a poor ass student by the way but we got a good deal on airfare and hotel so should be a good time.

Since I'll be there for a limited amount of time, besides gambling of course what are some must see things for the 1st time out there? I'm heading out w/ the boys not the woman, i'll do that when i graduate and am employed.

Venetian sportsbook is the best I think and can't be beat!!

Go to some strip clubs - Club Paradise across the street from Hard Rock Hotel & Cafe is a good one.

You'll have to check out the Palms if you want to go clubbing, IMO they have the best clubs.

First thing you need to do when you get there is get some scratch together. If you do what I say it will happen for you.

Go to Green Valley Ranch
Have two beers at the whiskey bar
followed by a red bull and stoli

Buy two hunded in $5 chips proceed to the second Roulette wheel and wait for either a 0, 00 or 5 to come up. As soon as this takes place put a nickle on 8, 11, 17, and 25. Be patient. You have 10 spins before you are broke. Normally they will spin the 25 on the first spin to get you started. As soon as you have 500 double up on any of your numbers that have not come out. Throw $10 at the dealers put 50 back in your pocket and ask the oldest person at the table for the day they were born. Start playing this and try and get everyone to play it. Let the spinner know that when that new number comes out he can count on a nice tip by winking at him. (They know the drill) Start playing the two numbers to the right and to the left on the wheel. This gives you a 5 number patch on the wheel that the dealer is likely to hit because they are trying for you. Within 3 spins you will be paid. Repeat this and you will have a dime or two in no time.

If you guys are looking for clubs I'd recommend Pure at Caesar's on Tuesday and either Tangerine at TI or Mix at Mandalay Bay on Wednesday. Mix is more of an ultra lounge than a club though. On Mondays about the only place to go is Foundation Room at Mandalay. Since I moved here my favorite club is Body English at Hard Rock but they're only open on weekends. Best places on Thursday will probably either be Tabu at MGM which is an ultra lounge or Rain at the Palms although I'm not a big fan of that place and Vivid at Venetian is starting to pick up a bit after recently opening. Gotta check out the clubs at least once if you're college students.

Best strip clubs IMO are Spearmint Rhino, Sapphire's or the new club SIN but it depends what you're looking for. I like Caesar's, Venetian, and Mirage as far as sportsbooks go.

I went on The Red Rock Canyon and lunch tour a few years ago...with tour guide Jake...if you get him and this trip you will have a good time, learn something, have a nice lunch, and kill a few hours.

--Las Vegas is now getting overcrowded and too many cars. It's not the same any more. But if you get a break in fare and rooms then it's worth it......

Saint - since your a starving student, the strip clubs may end up being a waste of limited funds. If you do go - get a seat by the stage and spend $1 at a time. HOLD OUT ON THE PRICEY LAPDANCES! I'd suggest finding all the free things possible the first couple days. If you have money at the end, then go crazy at a strip club or expensive lounge.

Lots of the struggling lounges and dance clubs are either free or give out free passes like crazy - trying to get people in. Take those freebies and make the most of it. Sometimes the cheap stuff is the most fun.

save on cabs by riding free shuttles to Hard Rock, the Palms, The Orleans and such. Call them after you arrive to get latest info. Across Flamingo road from Ballys you catch the free shuttle to Gold Coast, runs every 15 mins. The Palms and The Rio are across the street from Gold Coast, easy walk.

The Palms, GC and Orleans offer better deals in buffets and some casino games than anything on the Strip.
