First, WVU -3.

Rutgers is overrated and WVU is underrated.

This line is way too low.

I see WVU winning by 14 points.

Second, Texas -14.

I still can't see why all of you think OU can hang in this one.

They simply are not the team that they have been, and for you guys who can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

Texas has better athletes and more riding on this game.

They will prove it this week.

Texas by 21.

Have you been living on a deserted island the past five years?

OU still has PLENTY of talent. If they limit the turnovers, NO WAY texas covers the 14.

OU has no QB.

Peterson might be hurt.

This Texas' best shot to beat them in years.

Texas in a blowout.

I guess TX is a lock. I'm going to run out and put all my money on Mr BROWN. Rutgers may make the money cry for the 2nd st wk.

What is WV going to do for a QB ? Why is the line only 3 when this game is a lock ? Their back up is scared of the ball. All the money is with you.

WV beat Rutgers last yr 35 -30. They had the better team on paper, gone from last yr are their 3 best players marshall (QB) / harris (RB) / jones (CB)/ & the 4 turn overs Rutgers served up. Rutgers get the win for the same reason they won last wk, they won't beat themselves. Hart is smarter this yr.Nice to have back to back home games in this series. You may be looking at 0-2. A split at best.

It can easily be argued that TX has had the better athletes lately too by looking at their recruiting rankings. They were actually favored in 3 out of the 5 losses they just took. They've also had plenty riding on those 5 games as well, seeing how they were undefeated in 3 out of the 5 losses they took in Oct. and the other 2 they had their only other reg. season loss come before the OU/TX game. They never lost more than 1 other reg. season game in those 5 yrs.

Digging back a little further, OU was favored against TX for 11 yrs straight, from 85-95. Finally TX was favored the 12th year in 96 when OU fielded one of its worst teams ever, worst record since 1960 (3-8). It was John Blake's first year coaching and after losing their first two home games to TCU then Tulsa (almost like this year) and to San Diego St and KU, they were 0-4 going into the OU/TX game. TX was favored by 21 pts, they had a decent team and ended up winning their only Big 12 Championship EVER that year. Guess who won that game. OU's only other wins that year were to Baylor and a poor Okie State team.

TX may finally win this year, but I'll take the 13.5 or 14 pts, TX has only covered 2 tds against OU once in the last 23 years.

So Cal
I love W.VA-3
IMO this line is low because of Rutgers W vs a shitty Pitt team ,and a W.VA lose to a championship calibur VA Tech team.

W.VA will run the ball all day. They do it very well also .
Pitt has absolutely zero rushing attack, and no team speed.Thats why they lost, and will continue to due so .

IMO Rutgers left it all on the field LW .

W.VA has speedy athelethes.(Pitt has no speed ...on D or O)
The Big East is up for grabs & WVA needs the W in conference play. No way Rutgers makes it a close game.
Easy winner...WVA 34 Rutgers 10

GL to us BuffaloBill !!!

The trends would suggest that the home team covers in the Rutgers/ WV game. Trends get broken however. Whos to say which of these teams left more on the field last week?
Id say WV wins to reestablish some face after the VT loss.

Bryan,

I believe Pat White will be playing QB this week.

He will be just fine.

Coach Rodriguez is not going leave the game in his hands.

They will run the ball all day long and Rutgers will not be able to stop it.

Pitt is a terrible team, and Rutgers almost blew it against them.

WVU has a lot more speed on defence than Pitt, and it will show this week.

Rutgers may be able to get a few touchdowns, but I think WVU will score about 6 touchdowns.

I see this as a high scoring affair and WVU will come out on top.

Plus, If Rutgers could not stop the attack of Pitt, how do they plan on stopping the WVU running game?

Also, did you watch that game last year?

I did, and WVU was dominant in that game.

They let Rutgers come back late in the game.

The problem last year was WVU's defence.

I think that their defense is better than last year.

bill:

no, i dont like rutgers here, however i do think this is a rutgers-or-nothin kind of game.

its funny. before the pitt game, everyone was saying how rutgers was going to get clobbered by the panthers. and how pitt was the better team. etc. etc.

now, all the posts are saying "oh, it was just a win over a terrible pitt team".

rutgers deserves credit. that program has come a long way.

this is truly one of those games where perception is different from reality. everyone see's wvu as a good team, when in reality, theyre not as good as last year. everyone sees rutgers as a shit team, when in reality, this is the best rutgers team in many years.

i do agree that wvu should be able to run the ball on rutgers. but if this game is decided by more than 7 or 8 points one way or the other, id be really surprised.

though i dont know soo much about rutgers (cept maybe that mike mcmahon went there)--and that pittsburgh this yr is horrible under wandstadt, i've been able to watch WV games all year--and their offense, obviously predicated on the run hasnt impressed me. bednarik at QB doesnt throw--and when he does--its usually ugly to watch, and only a achange of pace to try and keep defense honest. as far as pat white goes--the other QB. the better throwing QB--he has yet to learn how to throw anything but fastballs to WRs -ie. cannot distinguish when putting touch, ortaking something off a throw and putting it in a better spot--simply fires as hard and fast as can--each and everytime. though like i said--dont know about rutgers--i think the WV is solid on defense--as it seems they have those guys that always kow how to get to the ball--though addae--their secondary anchor looked wobbly last i saw him. I guess what i'm saying is: on WV behalf--if they win its all runinng and defense--as their passing game is non-existant in my mind. -t
