You schedule a time for a consultation and someone will come by to survey how much work it will be. You decide if you want them to do everything (wrap glassware, box your stuff up) or if they are just going to move the furniture and boxes.
We moved out of a 2 bedroom apartment, not that much stuff, and only had them move the boxes and furniture. We packed everything. I was expecting it to cost $1k, but it came to $450. I gave them a $100 tip for doing a quality, fast job. Totally worth it.

Seems steep for a moving company, probably because they're National. I would have went with one of the local moving companies myself. I think you got ripped off.

I'm not a cheap ass. These guys have a good reputation, the cost exceeded my expectations, and I'm happy about the whole transaction. Thanks for chiming in.

when we moved from ny to arizona it cost us about $3200 & it was all boxes since we sold the furniture with the house....
jon, you can't say that he got ripped off unless you know the distance....& if gary thought it was worth it & was happy with the job....that's all that counts....
