Before games were played today Vegas said Clemson would of been a 3.5 Favorite. Line is out LSU is 3.5 favorite. 7 point swing based on today?s outcomes. :0074

I actually didn't have a bet on the game but I found myself pulling for Ohio St, not that I have anything against Clemson. I just hate to see any game, especially a game of this magnitude decided by 3 very shaky calls; 2 of which involved taking a touchdown away from Ohio St (by the replay booth) after the officiating crew had awarded them a touchdown.
1. Dobbins caught the ball, crossed into the end zone with the ball in his hands, then when he fell and hit the ground he lost control of the ball for a very short time before he took control of it again. Bottom line is the ball was over the goal line before the so called fumble. Just like when a guy dives over the top the ball just has to break the plane of the goal line. Officials had it right the first time and it was correctly called a touchdown, then reversed by replay booth.
2. Clemson receiver catches a pass, replay clearly shows it being caught, then it was stripped away by by an Ohio St player, whose teammate pick the ball up an ran for a touchdown. Correctly called a touchdown by the officiating crew, then promptly reversed by the replay booth. Starting to catch on?
3. The targeting call needs to be changed/adjusted. I always thought it was primarily used to keep guys from getting speared while they were on the ground, or keep DB's from basically taking a receivers 'head off' when crossing over the middle, and it should have happened a long time ago. However, when you are charging at someone to make a tackle, your basically leading with the head, to some degree, anyway; that's just the way the body moves when about to make a tackle, and when the QB ducks, there's going usually some kind of head to head contact, even if its just glancing. We can't expect the tackler to go up an like hug the guy to the ground, please.
One last thing; I think we need to add the horse-collar tackle to the same degree of punishment as we do the targeting (head to head contact). You can really mess a guys knee, ankle, or whole leg up with one of those horse collar tackles. Okay lets get that done.

I didn?t see #1 so I?ll just comment on #2 and #3. I absolutely agree with #2 and somewhat agree with #3.
#2 was complete horse shit. The call should have been CONFIRMED. Or if they were semi-blind, then they should have said STAND as called. Being REVERSED is complete garbage. It was 100% a completed catch, then a fumble, then a return TD. Someone needs to get fired over this atrocity.
#3 (the targeting ejection) was controversial. I would have been fine with him just getting the flag. The helmet seemed like an incidental contact, and not leading with the helmet.

Everything you said is completely wrong
1) dobbins didnt catch the ball.....he needed to possess it thrubthr ground (only had 1 foot down before falling/diving during process of catch) and didnt....it took about 10 seconds for replay to overturn and was an obvious inc pass
2) replay looks so cool and conclusive in SUPER SLO MO...but in real speed he never actually had possession and make a football move (this was the closest if the three you are protesting but still the correct call)
3) targeting is a joke in college football but this was a non brainer penalty...I'd like to see some discretion provided to allow a definite penalty but not an ejection.
Maybe osu should worry about their coaches decision kicking a pat to go up 2 vs trying for a two pt conversion to go up 3 with 11 mins left in the game than these calls which were mostly cut and dry against osu.

they blew it...and no matter how many more times the receiver catches the ball turns and takes 2 steps with control of the ball before the defender strips the ball in the peplay ...

May be wrong on this one but I'm trying to find video of the one where the tailback caught the ball just before the goal line, or right after, and ended up 'trapping it' according to the replay officials. If he crossed the goal line with the ball in his hands I would't think the trapping would even come into play, as he had already crossed the goal line; much the same thing like when tailback is handed the ball by the QB and the tailback jumps/dives over top of line enough to extend the ball over the goal line; once the ball breaks the plan(goal line) it's a touchdown. Why should it be any different for a receiver.
