YTD 98-67

Lalime & Osgood are the starters tonight in NY. Ott. has lost only once in their last 24 games against NYI dating back to '96. A road game is just what the Sens need after losing their last 2 at home in OT. They have lost 4 in a row and seem ready to snap it against a team they have dominated in the last 6 years. They have 2 wins and a tie against NYI this year. Injuries on the Sens side, Chara will miss his third straight game with the flu but will be back tomorrow night. Chris Neil is out with a hip injury and Persson on D is out as well. Salo on D returns after cowardly hit by Dan Snyder of the Thrashers who was given a 3 game suspension. Rachunek is gone for the year on D. Chris Bala has been recalled from Grand Rapids and replace Neil tonight. Look for a focussed group tonight as Ott. wins a tight one.

Pho. has been one of the hottest teams since the Olympic break. Markov is out on D and this will hurt the Coyotes as he has had a great year to date. Still the Coyotes play a sound game on the road and with the play of G Burke he should be the difference in this one.

Playing:

Ott. - PK.(+140)
Pho. - PK.(-125)

GL tonight!

Adding my 2 cents, I don't think it matters who is in net for Philly, Chekmanek or Boucher. Philly has been a better road team than home team all year and with Richter out Blackburn will get the start and he is horrible!!!! Good Luck$$$$

Thanks jakejj. Any input is appreciated. I have not watched alot of the Flyers games this year. Their goaltending has been inconsistent much like Ott. Boucher has had less starts therefore sometimes not as sharp. The rookie Blackburn will be a good one but NYR defense has so many holes in it. Their best D is Leetch and I view him as a forward, this guy is out of position so often and gets burned time and time again.

Horns just wanted to tell ya slam is reporting snow for the isles tonight--"New York G Chris Osgood, who won his 27th game of the season against the Rangers Tuesday, which is the most by an Islanders goalie since Ron Hextall won 27 in 1993-94. He wont be in the net because coach Peter Laviolette has opted to start Garth Snow" good luck tonight

wigs,
Thanks for the info. The Ottawa Sun is reporting Osgood so I guess we will have to wait and see. With Snow in nets NYI will tighten up a little more defensively. NYI gives Jonsson, Hamrlik & Aucoin the bulk of icetime as each gets about 30 min. a game. I would be surprised to see Snow since NYI are only 4 points behind Ott. with 2 games in hand. This is a huge game for both teams so why not play your best. Or maybe since Osgood has not beat Ott. this year that they thought they would change things up.

nd2002horns,
Have a side wager on the Isles -1/2 against the Sens under the assumption that Osgood was in net tonight for the Isles. Why in the world would Snow get the start for the Isles  I figured after a good outing against the Rangers that the Isles would go with Osgood in preperation for the playoff push. Garth Snow is horrible, can anyone give a definitive answer who is starting tonight in goal for the Isles? I may have to buy back my wager if Snow is starting. The Sens have disappointed me in their last two outings, Lalime has been inconsistent. Why wouldn't they start Hurme?

jakejj,

Hurme is returning for his first game since getting over the flu, he will play tonight on an emergency basis only. I agree that Lalime has been inconsistent. As for NYI, the Sun said Osgood but wigs was saying it is Snow. We won't know right up until game time so before the puck drops hopefully I can post it and you will know.

good luck horns, still waiting to find out about goalie but i thought this trend was interesting...
"The Islanders will be looking to avoid what has been known as "Post-Rangers Syndrome," or a letdown following a game against their rivals. This season, the Islanders are 0-3-1 following games against the Rangers, including an 0-1-1 record following a win. Since the 1988-89 season, when the affliction first hit the organization, the Islanders are 22-49-6 following regular-season games against the Rangers and an alarming 8-20-4 in games after they've beaten the Rangers"

yeah jake - i think it should be close, big game for both teams, right next to each other in the standings--
watching the pregame waiting for them to announce netminders--

Snow in nets

jake--possible reason for snow is that isles play in toronto tom. night--

Thanks prospector.

Sens won a little easier than I thought.

Did anyone see the cheap shot by Eric Cairns. He punched Radek Bonk as he was skating up ice and blind sided him, Bonk had no clue where he was when he finally got up. Total gutless cheap shot. Players have no respect for one another. This could be a big blow if it is a concussion. The Sens are thin up the middle already and don't need to lose another C. Doubt Bonk will be in the line-up tomorrow night, look for Havlat to move to C.

Had to laugh seeing GREEDY, uh I mean Yashin at the end of the bench for the entire 3rd period. I am sure he enjoyed the rest as all this guy does is coast all year. Peca must be so tired of this guys act. He had to know what a gutless wonder this guy was after shutting him down as a Sabre.

Philly total looks to be out the window unless they pull what the Leafs did last night with 4 goals in 1:25.
