Tonights game should be a tight scoring affair. When the Sens are in a middle of a tough stretch like they are now as they are playing 16 games in 28 days(the max. amount of games allowed by the NHL) Jacques has his guys play a very tight defensive game. Add in the fact they have 2 regulars out on D and more importantly Redden who they missed dearly on Mon. against the Stars as it showed in the third, this adds up to a low score tonight, 2-1 or 3-1.
Odd stat that I have been tracking recently with the Sens is that they tend to play a poor game on the road when they are not televised locally. This teams every move is magnified here in Ott as they are the only pro team during this time of year. After Mondays loss to Dallas the call in shows for the next 2 days had everyone hitting the panic button. Last I looked they were tied with 5 min. to go in the third. It was not like they lost 6-2 or something. What I am trying to say is that fans in this city expect the moon with this team. So when they are playing a non-conference game in a late time zone they know people won't be staying up to 1:30am to watch the entire game, therefore they tend to relax and maybe take a night off. With no local TV for this game tonight I see the Sens playing a sloppy game and add in the fact they look like a very tired bunch compared to 10 days ago. The Sens are 1-5-2 when playing on the road and their is no local TV for the game. Their only win coming after they lost 3-2 to Nashville and then pounded TB 6-2. This team has yet to lose 2 in a row for 2 and a half months. Well tonight is the night.

***As well, when Alfredsson was asked on Sat. night by a few of us "were you worried the team would take Buf. lightly tonight knowing you had Dallas on deck?" His reply, "no, actually I am very worried about how we will respond to Anaheim after we play Dallas as many of the guys are going to put everything they got into the Stars game."
I really like Ana. in this spot tonight, everything for me is pointing to an Ott. loss. I know this team has been so resiliant this year but it has to end and tonight could not be a better night for that.
Lalime is the starter and I will post the starter for the Ducks later tonight.

HORNS, I LOVED YOUR CALL 3 WEEKS AGO WHEN YOU CALLED ATLANTA TO BEAT PHILADELPHIA OUTRIGHT AS A +280 DOG. THAT WAS A GAME WHERE PHILI BEAT DET A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE. I SEE TONIGHTS GAME BETWEEN CALG/DALL VERY SIMILAR. I SEE A HUGE LETDOWN BY DALLAS TONIGHT, ESPECEIALY AFTER THEY SPANKED THE BEST FROM THE EAST OTT. ON MONDAY. YOUR THOUGHTS

Horns-

you definitely know more about the Sens than I do and you brought up a good point about the Sens not playing well when they are not televised back at home. But I do feel the Sens want some momentum going into the break and I am sure they know that they need 2-3 points over the next two nights to finish the first half with the most points. I also think the Ducks need the game against San Jose on Thursday more because of the standings within their conference. it would not surprise me to see Gerber in net for the Ducks. Lastly, The Sens have dominated the Ducks of late. But without Wade and Curtis who knows what will happen.

chenker,

You are right the Sens have owned the Ducks but Ana. has not played since Friday and during that time Ott. has flown home from ATL, played Buf at home on Sat. night, then flew 4 hrs. to Dallas, played the Stars and now flew out to Ana. yesterday. That will make anyone not have the edge they normally have so I am playing based on fatigue and a few other trends. GL

I am buying back the Sens under. With Reds and Curtis out tonight something makes me think they give up a few goals down low in the defensive zone coverage. Reds is so great at that first pass out of the zone they really don't have anyone else that great at it and it could cost me the under so I am buying it back. Sorry to those who might have already played it. Just going on info. Still love the DUCKS!;)

Thanks for all the info Horns. I think you may be onto something with Anaheim tonight. I think the Ducks have the speed to counter Ottawa's speed, and Redden being out hurts them in a big way.

What a crazy game the other night in Dallas. Havlat was just making some guys look silly. Good luck tonight!

Funny thing though with Havlat is that he had a 5 day rest from his arm injury and was one of the few Sens with any jump. Was a great though, can't wait for the return match here Feb.27. Modano is one of my favs.
As well, in the fall I am going to hit a Longhorns game, would really like to know a few things before heading down. I will watch for your postings in Sept. in college foots. GL
