2000-2004 Acura factory fix for tranny's

Received a notice today for my Acura TL automatic...possible serious 2nd gear lubrication problem...might want to check into it if you haven't got notification.Work covered by warranty...

This is sort of old news. This issue affects some late model (2000-up) Hondas and Acuras. Owners will be notified by American Honda. If you feel anything odd about the transmission feel, let your local dealer know so that a notation can be made if further issues arise. Some vehicles that are past repair will be given transmission replacements. Those that are not, will be given 2nd gear oil jet kits to alleviate a lack of lubrication that can arise under certain conditions.

It actually kind of funny how they determine whether to replace the trans. or install the oil jet kit.

BTW, if anyone has any questions concerning Honda or Acura vehicles, post them for me. :)

Thanks....old news was actually new news to me, not much of a modern car guy....first car 67 cougar...second 70 Cuda 340 convertible,....now very collectable cars.....sigh, for the days when Detroit rocked....now they are all ball-less cookie cutter look alikes.... :sadwave:

Yeah, I know what you're talking about.

I actually talked to a guy today that's still pissed about a car decision he made over 25 years ago. He had to decide between a Camaro and a Cobra. He chose the Camaro because it was more practical for his needs. He's still upset about that one. :cry:

is this a trate in the 2004 mdx as well. what are the signs. mine has about 6,000 mi on it.
