Horny, I agree with you 100%, just like what Spits said about Gleason. Brown is only 18 yrs-old. The Kings really needs to take their time with this "supposed" "Franchise-player". I'm just excited about how stacked the Kings' minor league team is with talent. Now I finally understand how you felt a few yrs back with the Sens:D

HEY GUYS! How about Detroit leaving CuJo unprotected on the waiver wire?? Wonder if anyone will claim him:eek:

Dave Taylor and his scouting staff have done a super job. I am glad your Kings are going to benefit from it and in 2-3 years from now they will enjoy the same results the Sens are enjoying now.
I think the NYR claim Joseph. Just a thought.
As well, there is a chance that Ray Emery could win the back-up job behind Lalime. Prusek has played well but Emery has been super. He was an AHL All-Star last year. Should be interesting.

Agree with Horns that Brown will benefit more from another year in junior then being a 4th liner in L.A. as an 18 year old. Granted, this kid is gonna be a great player for them. Great offensive skills as well as a knack for mixing things up with the opposition.

Let him dominate the junior ranks one more year, let him play in the World Junior Championships one more time for the U.S., and then see where he stands next year in camp.

Well, guys. The verdict is in. Dustin Brown is on the opening day roster after signing a 3 yr contract with the Kings. He scored 4 goals in 6 pre-season games. Granted, they're PRE-season games, but he impressed the coaching staff so much that they're gonna put him on the 3rd line with Armstrong (who won the pre-season MVP honor on the team) to see how it works out. Since he's only 18 yrs old, if he's demoted, he'll go straight back to his Junior hockey club, and not Manchester. With Ally, Deader, Aulin, and Cammalleri out for extended period of time, Brown will likely be with the club for what looks like the 1st month or so. I have the utmost respect for Andy Murray as a hockey coach, so if he says Brown is ready, who am I to say no, right??:D.

On offense...... Allison (IR), Deadmarsh (IR), Aulin (IR), Cammalleri (IR), Palffy, Stumpel, Frolov, Robitaille, Belanger, Klatt, Brown, Armstrong, Pirnes, Chartrand, Laperriere, Avery, Brennan, Sim

Gleason has also made the opening day roster. They have only 9 players left on D.

On defense...... Miller(IR), Norton(IR), Norstrom, Modry, Vissy, Strbak, Holland, Corvo, and Gleason

All I gotta say is......Cechmanek better be ON FAWKING FIRE the 1st month because we're playing B2B OTR in Detroit and Pitt, @Chicago (3/4OTR), Ottawa (home opener, fawking bullshit), Philly, Bos (meow;)), Buff, Chicago, and Vancouver. Tough 1st month considering all the guys out of action.

Miller will travel will the Kings on their road trip to Det, Pitt and Chicago, and hopes to play in the Chicago game which also happens to be their 3rd in 4 nites. Kuznetsov is out at least 4 games because the dumbass is still stuck in Russia because of Visa problems for not paying his traffic ticket a yr ago:moon:. But when he gets back to the US, he'll start in Manchester 1st for conditioning. Norton is out for a couple of months and will start on the IR. Modry has recovered from surgery and played the last pre-season game vs Anaheim. Gleason likely will play the 3rd D line, and I'm sure as soon as Miller or Kuznetsov is available, he'll be sent down to Manchester......unless he really shines and outplays Corvo.

Hnilicka was left unprotected but unclaimed and was sent down to Manchester. So Cechmanek will be the #1 goalie, while Huet will play backup.

Here's your latest Kings update. Good luck this season, everyone!!!!!!

ddubs,

Great to hear Gleason will get a chance early on. Hope he does well. Dustin Brown is a very good player and probably won;t look out of place once the season starts even if he does play on the 3rd line.

My question for you is if there is any concrete idea of when Allison and Deadmarsh can be expected back? Are they skating?

Anything you can give would be great.

I plan on posting my plays and keeping a record here at Madjack's so hopefully I can contribute some this season. I won't be as helpful the first month as I am tied up studying for an exam in early November. But after that...all systems go!!!!

spits......not at all. There're no timetables mentioned for those 2 to be back. Only 3 Kings participated in Sunday morning's skate, without contact, Miller, Deader, and Ally. The rest of the team got the day off. Both Ally and Deader are still occassionally having post-concussion syndrome symptoms, and both are obviously very frustrated. Personally, I don't want either one of them to rush at all. If it's gonna take 2 months to get to 100%, go ahead and take your time. I'd rather have them 100% for the final stretch of the season than to see them hurry back, just to get put back on the IR again.

My little brother went to the Pond with his wife to see the Kings and the Ducks on Friday nite, and said Brown and Gleason both looked very good. He was very impressed with Brown especially, and said at time they looked like they were "floating" on ice. I can't wait to watch these 2 play.

Looking forward to your picks this season, spits. Glad you decided to stay;) :D

Quick Kings update......

Deader, Ally, Miller ALL stayed in LA while the rest of the team traveled to Detroit to open the season on a 3 game road trip. No timetables for Deader and Ally's return. Miller should be back within a week.
