I think this team has what it takes to win the whole damn thing. Saving Carpenter and Suppan for game 3 & 4 will be huge if they can pull out a win over the weekend in Det. Take it for what it's worth as I'm a Cardinal Homer.

Both men on the bump tonight have overachieved in this postseason. Think we might see some true colors come out tonight. Cold weather and drizzle always favors the hitter and a swift 17-20 mph wind blowing out to left field should really help all the strong right handed sticks in the lineup tonight....

Ok. Took my lumps in game 2. Got something out of that game. Bases loaded with no outs twice and 1 out once.....The bats are live in this series, but nada happening with runners in scoring position.


Robertson with 2 weeks off might be a bit rusty and has only faced 3 players on the current Cardinal roster. One (Preston Wilson) is batting .1000 with 2 HR's against him. I can only assume he will be in the starting lineup tonight. Carpenter was tagged for 7 runs in his only start against the Tigers this year. Casey will get the start tonight instead of his normal role as the DH. He has been tough against Carpenter hitting .430 lifetime against him. I've been expecting a rebound effort from Carpenter the past two outings. At home things could very well change, but until I see it, I think the OVER in tonight's game has great value.
