9-6 +29.25* for the 1st round. Tough loss on Angels. Still can't believe they tried the suicide squeeze... should have figured Boston would win this game.

Surprised we don't have baseball for a couple days... I guess the league really wants to see the season last until the end of October.

keep up the good work, DD.
curious what you think of LAD as dogs for the two openers in Philly.
Lowe is a monster right now.
Hamels, though, looks like a ripe big-game pitcher.
Phils might squeek out game #1 but, if they do, I think I'd ride Chad over Brett (as doggie) for game #2.

anyways, congrats on the profits

Thanks Extrapolater!

Dodgers +130 for 5* - Should have jumped on this earlier, but placed it yesterday. Saw at least +135 when line first came out.

Dodgers have a lot of RH hitters to matchup nicely with Hamels. I know Either and Loney are LH hitters. The Phillies have some solid LH's in Utley and Howard to rock Lowe. However, Lowe gave up 14 homers this sesason while Hamels gave up 28 and playing in a SMALL park like Philly, this matters. Lowe has also been on a nice role and figured the far better value is with LA in a game that I believe is a toss up with maybe a slight edge to LA since they'll be loose while Philly could be a little tight with their fan base capable of booing immediately.

Still undecided on Boston/TBay in game #1, but leaning towards TBay. Shields pitched well against Boston at home and TBay's crowd will be at a fever pitch IMO for game #1. Add in the fact TBay is now 59-24 @ home while Boston played less than .500 ball on the road and this play looks fairly solid IMO.

Only concern is Dice K pitching another brilliant game as he's 9-0 with a 2.37 ERA on the road this season:scared Shields was 9-2 with a 2.59 ERA at home this season.

Would like to hear unbiased thoughts on TBay/Boston series. Please don't tell me TBay will fold because they haven't folded all season and they have some veterans with playoff experience on their team.

If Florida could do it , so can T.B.
The Rays have the attitude now, Boston doesn't scare them anymore.
Furthermore, Boston had plenty of time to overtake T.B. and couldn't do it. And I like the Redsox but it's time for a changing of the guards.

Its definately a hard series to figure out. TB and the RedSox are both good teams, but you have to give it to the Sox. I mean they've been here before and they are the defending champions. But, the Rays are on a mission and they are a team that doesn't give up. I really want to take the Rays to win the series, but i just don't know yet.

Took Tampa Bay -110 for 5* in game #1.

Just a good feeling the Devil Rays will come ready to play and Dice K's walks will be the difference. Besides Bay, knowone is swinging a hot stick for Boston and Dice K is under .500 vs. Tampa Bay for his career. Add in the fact Shields doesn't walk many and TBay is excellent at home 59-24 including playoffs and I feel confident.

Leaning Dodgers in game #2 if they win tonight. LA reminds me of St. Louis from 2006.

WOW! Lowe blew up quickly. I go to take a piss and then it's 3-2 with homers by Utley and Burrell... hopefully the Dodgers can start hitting now because they're going to need some runs.

9-7 +24.25* - On a 2 game losing steak ARGHHH!

Already took TBay and going to add another play now as I expect this team to be favored tomorrow:

Philly +105 for 5* - Phillies have a lot of momentum after a come from behind win and I like backing home dogs in the playoffs. Philly crowd will be at loud again tomorrow and Myers has been tough other than a couple rough starts late in the season. I expect Philly to be favored by tomorrow so grabbing this line now.

Going to upgrade Boston +110 to 7.5*... been having a decent day in football so going to play a little bigger.

Also, Philly +140 for 7.5* Sunday night game #3

10-10 +9* - Counting Phillies as a loss although it's not over. League Championship Record now 1-4 and I'm 1-5 my last 6 plays... Fading might be smart right now.

Monday afternoon:
Red Sox -175 for 6*
Red Sox RL (+120) for 2.5*

Will win 9* if Red Sox win 5-2 or or by at least a couple runs as I and most people expect. Garza didn't impress me against Chicago and his road record was poor this season. Lester has been absolutely dominating lately and has been awesome at home all season not losing since early April.

Major League Baseball Game of the Post Season for myself. Let's hope this game goes as expected otherwise I might have to tone it down the remainder of the post season.

10-11 -4* - Unbelievable bad run. Going to play games for 5* max the rest of this round. Hopefully I can finish the post season in the black.

Need Philly 5* to win 9* to be a winner tonight. However, I don't have any confidence after today's disaster with Boston. Just a feeling Tampa Bay takes this series as well.

11-11 +5* - Nothing to talk about, but backing the following Tuesday night:

Tampa Bay +140 for 5* - Devil Rays are loose and appear ready to win after today's crushing of Lester. Wakefield has great numbers against PAST TBay teams... TBay crushed Wakefield his last outing against them and Sonnastine looked great against White Sox. Wakefield hasn't pitched in weeks and laying too much chalk IMO. Already took TBay @ +140 and feel good.

Could take TBay +140 5 to win 7* or could take Boston 10.5 for 7* with Wakefield??? Sounds like an easy decision IMO taking TBay 5* to win 7* with Sonnastine!

Anyway, I haven't picked one game correct in this series so I might as well take the dog and hope for the best. Series is crushing my post season profits and my Red Sox friends will be thrilled to hear I like TBay tomorrow.

Probably not the smartest way to bet 5* on every match as you were doing so well and have hit a cold streak. Regarding the Ray/Sox game, the stats are pointing towards a Boston win. Check this out.

Boston? 10/14
TB - 10/13
TB
Boston
TB
TB
Boston
TB
TB
Boston
TB - 07/02

If the stats continue Boston should win:shrug:

Tough round for me too, DD.
At least we're on the whopping one-in-a-row with the Phillies comeback.

GL today

jig-jag, no offense intended but if you saw a string of coin-tosses going
H
T
T
H
T
T
H
T
T
?

would you then be prepared to argue that the "stats" point to an H on the next flip?
Analyzing the information this way--exclusively--leaves out some other, more important information IMO. In this example it would be your probability (50% with a legitimate coin) on making a correct call. At +140 for another T I would bet that the pattern will be broken.

Game looks to be a coin-toss to me, though I suspect that the Rays should be calm, cool and relaxed when playing this one (relatively).

I'll mark you down for an I told you so if the 'Sox pull it off, which wouldn't be a major surprise.

I'm with DD on the +140 for the Tails.

Leaning Philly to end things Wednesday if we see +120 or better (thinking (and 'capping) we'll see another coin-tosser). Hamels might be more expensive than that. Hope not.

enjoy
