Boys its 84 days away!!! Alot of studying to do until then haha... Let's get started

SEC East

1. Florida - Obviously you have to put the Gators here since they are the defending SEC Champs and Nat'l Champs. Not to mention Tebow is back... along with an arsenal of running backs and a very deep defense that was just nasty a year ago.

2. Georgia - The Dawgs are going to give Florida a run for their money in the East, but the Dawgs have a tough schedule and that might be a little too much for them. Replacing Stafford and Moreno wont be easier either. Richt is a great coach, he will have his boys ready.

3. South Carolina - think the ol ball coach needs to have a better than average year this year or he might be leaving. Garcia really needs to step up and be a leader on the offensive side of the ball. Defense is where the strength is for the Cocks and will keep them in games.

4. Tennessee - Im not really sure what to think about the Vols for the upcoming season other than Kiffin has pissed off alot coaches since accepting the position. Their defense, led by Eric Berry, will be good and keep them in games, but their offense will need to step up big time.

5. Vanderbilt - 2008 was a great year for the Dores but this is a new year. Vandy won alot of close games last year that just happened to go in their favor. Vandy's defense will be the strong part of their team. Last year's team who ranked 117th in total offense will more than likely be the same.

6. Kentucky - The Cats offense will definitely be the major concern this year. Hartline will be the starter at QB, but if the Cats want to score points and make the offense exciting they need to get Cobb in as many plays as possible. Hartline just isnt that good of a QB IMO. UK will be very strong on the defensive side of the ball.

1. LSU - The Tigers gained alot of momentum going into the offseason by destroying GT in the Chik-fil-a bowl and followed that up with an excellent recruiting class. Jordan Jefferson will be a big playmaker for the Tigers along with Charles Scott. LSU's secondary needs to take away the big pass plays this year.

2. Alabama - The Tide's D is going to be a force this year. They will be very tough to run on with Cody up front and McClain hovering behind him. McElroy will need to make an immediate impact on offense but I think he is better than JPW and will do fine.

3. Ole Miss - The Rebels have alot to be excited about this fall. Sneed is an excellent QB and runs Nutt's offense perfectly. On defense, the secondary is the weak spot. The one thing that might hurt Ole Miss is their scheduling. Their bye week is the 2nd week of the season and they will need it later on the season when its crunch time.

4. Arkansas - Arky's offense will be good this year with Mallett at QB. Their schedule, however, is absolutely brutal. Their defense will need to be alot better than last year if they want to steal some games on the road.

5. Auburn - Not real sure what to think about the Tigers this year. Their offense seems to be about the same while their defense will be good again. Chizik has his work cut out for him.

6. Mississippi State - The biggest question for the Bulldogs this year will be the QB. Dixon, Ducre, Elliot, and Conner will be the work horses in the backfield. The tandem of new receivers will also need to make an immediate impact. State's D will be solid this year just like years past. State will be a little better than everyone thinks this year. 2 years ago we were picked last and look what happened. Last year Ole Miss was picked last and look what they did.

Some good insights Corley!..I'm just glad our teams play each other every year even tho we're not in the same division...that way at least one of us is going to win a conference game...that's a good relationship...:142smilie ...whose knows tho, the Cats & Dogs may surprise a few people this year?

Thanks cruncher! Yeah man I'll bet UK and MSU shock a few people this year. Remember State wasn't that far away from being 6-6 last year... Alot of people are writing them off this year but I think they will do better than expected.

You may be right Corley and I hope so. Had forgotten State dropped 2 conference games by a total of 2 points and I know they should have won the Ky game as I think they had a blocked extra point & fieldgoal...all they need is about another 50yrds offense per game and that should be something Mullen can help make happen...because the defense is good enough.

Here me now and believe me later, UGA will be better than last year. Just as I said they would never live up to the hype last year, I am saying they will equally surpass expectations this year. Lets just say I see a lot of 98 vols in this team. Now I am not calling for a NC or anything, but offense will not be a problem even after losing the two "stars". This team is returning most of the defensive core including a couple of starters lost to injuries early last year. With the defense goes the season. If they can return to form, I see no reason another 10 win season shouldnt be expected. If they catch a few breaks and avoid injuries this could actually be a special year.

UGA - I believe you... I think their offense will be fine and their D will straight up be nasty. They are my team that I think will have the best chance to dethrone the Gators.

Would like to catch around 8 points at Oklahoma St but that would probably never happen.

Man I think you guys are way off the mark. I am a
Cowboy alum and there is no way they will be
favored by 3 in this game. Pickem at best but they
should be getting 3.5. If Georgia gets 8 pts I'll die
from ejackulation. (misspelled, so what) I'd bet the
fricken farm on the Bulldogs.

I figured it at a pickem or even uga minus 1 or 2. The most telling part of this game for me personally is the number of points given up by the dawgs. If they get scorched for 40+ then take everything I said above and throw it out the window. If they can hold the cowboys in the 20's and pull it out I will be extremely pleased as well as even more confident that the Defense has fixed itself. Make no mistake, georgia will be ready, the only question is can they stop them:shrug:

Damn september is a long way off:(

last year georiga was somewhat disappointing....don't know if they will be better because of who they are replacing on offense, but their off. line will be much better than last year...& that's big....

lindy's magazine rates fla. schedule as the easiest in the southeast....so they should run the table with their only possible problem being lsu....

I have to disagree on Georgia this year. I see them losing 4 games and alot of turmoil trying to replace the players that left. Caleb King has yet to prove he is the real deal.

They are going to have QB controversy by the second game.

If they get by Oks St on the road with Joe Cox, they will be playing Old Ball Coachs South Carolina defense at home at night. :scared

..................................................................
Georgia finished with another 10-win season, including another bowl win, but still the season was widely viewed as disappointing.

Georgia Tech returns 17 starters from a 9-4 team that beat Georgia in Athens to close its 2008 regular season. The Yellow Jackets? 2008 success is reflected in the first preseason polls to hit magazine racks this summer.

By comparison, Georgia coach Mark Richt must replace quarterback Matthew Stafford, the top pick in this year?s NFL draft, and tailback Knowshon Moreno, also a first-round pick. Georgia also lost receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, a second-round pick.

Georgia boasts strong depth on its offensive line, and players and coaches have confidence in fifth-year senior Joe Cox, who takes over at quarterback after playing in only three games last season.

?He?s a guy who has prepared,? Richt said. ?He has prepared like he?s No. 1 and he?s done that all along.?:142smilie

The Bulldogs have no established starter at tailback, though Richt said Caleb King will open preseason drills as the starter. The defense was shaky in losses to Alabama, Florida and Georgia Tech.:SIB

As a result, Georgia won?t have to worry about more preseason No. 1 rankings.

Lindy?s preseason magazine ranks Georgia Tech No. 16 and Georgia No. 17. Athlon has Georgia No. 14 and Georgia Tech No. 22. The Sporting News/Street and Smith?s poll has Georgia Tech at No. 11, four spots ahead of No. 15 Georgia.

Georgia will try on the underdog role in its Sept. 5 opening game at Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are ranked 9th or 10th by Lindy?s, Athlon and The Sporting News.

Georgia has won 82 games in Richt?s first eight seasons, including six seasons with 10 or more wins and a 48-19 mark in Southeastern Conference games.

Georgia Tech overcame a 16-point halftime deficit to beat Georgia 45-42 last year for the Yellow Jackets? first win in the series since 2000.

So it?s like anything else, you execute the offense efficiently you?re going to be good. If you don?t, you won?t.?
