"The Lesson of her Death" by Jeffery Deaver.
A very early novel from one of my favourite authors. Multiple murders of college women with multiple suspects.
3/5
"Shelter" by Harlan Coben.
This book is a "Young Adult" novel from Coben.....aimed a younger audience, but I thought it was great! So much better that his later entries in his Myron Bolitar series. Good story with lots of suspense and a couple twists.
4/5
"At the End of The Road" by Grant Jerkins.
I read Jerkins debut last December (A Very Simple Crime) and loved it...........gave it 5/5 in here, and then had to wait a full year for the followup.........and it was worth the wait. Set in rural Georgia, in the 1970's, a young boy has more than his share of secrets to deal with.
4.5/5
"Angels Flight" by Michael Connelly.
Detective Harry Bosch investigates the murder of a lawyer who has won several lawsuits against the LAPD. He knows his colleagues are among the chief suspects.
3.5/5
"The End of Everything" by Megan Abbott.
A book that has garnered widespread support for Book of the Year in the mystery genre, but it simply was not up my alley. The abduction of a 13 year old girl as seen through the eyes of her 13 year old best friend. A little too touchy feely for me.
2.5/5
"The Keeper of Lost Causes" by Jussi Adler-Olsen.
Danish author Olsen excels with this novel about a very damaged detective who is put in charge of the cold case files. Disturbing and gritty, and I loved it.
4.5/5
"The last Goodbye" by Reed Arvin.
A waste of time about chemical experimentation on humans.........was tough to slog through.
1.5/5
"The Drop" by Michael Connelly.
Connelly's newest novel just came out at the end of November and it was great. Bosch looks into 2 cases that may or not be related, one of which would seem to indicate a serial killer has been operating under the radar in LA for over 20 years.
4.5/5
"The Poachers Son" by Paul Dorion.
The debut novel for this author from Maine...........a game warden gets involved in a murder in his district where he is the only one convinced the guilty party is not his estranged father.....who is on the run in the vast Maine woods.
3.5/5
"The Snowman" by Jo Nesbo.
Nesbo has been penning mystery novels in Denmark for quite some time, but this was my first try........and it was sensational ! Someone is building snowmen outside of women's abodes the night before they disappear. It was frightening !
5/5
Nesbo's latest........."The Leopard" is now on the shelves.
"Where All the Dead Lie" by JT Ellison.
The 7th in this series set in Nashville, and it was a little different from the first 6. Detective Taylor Jackson goes to Scotland for some R&R after the chilling ending to her last book (So Close the Hand of Death) and deals with ghosts, PTSD and grudges. Do NOT pick this one up as your first Ellison, as it uses past story lines and character development in a large way.
3.5/5
"Headstone" by Ken Bruen.
Very famous, very violent Irish author. If you like your novels dark and disturbed, you'll love Bruen. I did.
4/5
Happy Reading,
