what I have learned watching this year:
1. Denver and Indy both made the right choices. Indy to move in a different direction, and Peyton to go to Denver as opposed to SF, Miami, Zona, etc....Both teams made it to the postseason, and I believe both have a chance to make some noise.
2. Giants are the most consistent team at being inconsistent: EVER. I have never seen a team that can change not just year to year, but week to week. Why, or better yet, how that happens is beyond me. I think they bounce back next year.
3. Rookie QB's no longer require a learning curve. Luck, Wilson, RG3, and to an extent Tannenhill, all went out and proved that they were the right choice is the draft, and all can win. This has the possibility of being one of the best drafts ever if they stay healthy.
4. Romo still sucks. Nuff said. A lot of people want to lump Stafford into the same group, but I am telling you, Stafford has no help around him. After Calvin, Mike Thomas is their best option. That's right, I said Mike Thomas. Stafford can win and compete at the highest level, but he needs help. I think Detroit goes after another bigtime receiver in the draft or free agency and bounces back. Romo on the other hand, has talent all around him. possibly the most offensive weapons in the league, and continues to suck.
5. Pittsburgh will be back next year. They struggled this year, which I said they would back in week 1, but that was simply because of new coordinators, players, schemes, injuries, etc....I will have them pegged to win the AFC North next year.
6. This is the most competitive league in years. I cannot remember the last time where I can see all 12 playoff teams in the conference championship games. Cinci and Minny may be the long shots, but they can play with these teams. I think this will be the best playoffs in years. Houston/Denver/New England/Balty may be the best 1-4 seeds overall in years. Nfc can say the same with ATL/GREENBAY/SF/WASH/SEATTLE
7. With how good the top of the league is with coaches, the bottom is equally as bad. I have never seen so many inadequate coaches in one year. Rex/lovie/norv/romeo all lead the way....
8. RG3 and Alfred Morris are without a doubt, the most exciting rookie QB/RB combo this league has ever seen and ever will see. The only combo close is another one this year, with Luck/ballard, but RG3 and Alfred are absolutely tops...morris will be a stud in this league for a while.
9. Defense isn't as important as past years. I still was a believer in defense wins chamionships, but that ended this year. Old school always says it best: Bring 30 to the party, or go home. Every team in the playoffs can score quickly and easily with the exception of maybe cinci and the Vikings. every other team can light the score boards up week after week.
10. I think there are a few teams who can very easily be in the playoffs next year with the coaches and players they have now: Dolphins- this team will be back. Saints- Payton back and brees. Giants- obviously.
PLAYOFFS
my predictions:
NFC CHAMP GAME:
GREENBAY 31 - ATLANTA 27
AFC CHAMP GAME:
DENVER 27 - BALTY 24
SUPERBOWL:
GREENBAY 33 - DENVER 23
good luck fellas, cant wait til next week
