Goal for this is to simply make a profit, I play $50 bucks a pick (about 1/4 of my normal unit size)...silly that you can get this young man at these odds...I also lean Sano, he would be my dark horse pick...still may make him a play as we all know where the odds are going to go on this thing 18 hours from now...I usually have success in this thing (not saying its skill probly more luck/experience) have picked 6 of the past 9 winners here...Many years you can find a solid under dog or two that no one has heard of...this year that under dog would be Sano (plays in a market where no one has heard of him, but they will know him after tomorrow night). I think he at least gives the big name guys a run for their money...This year however you have 2 big donkeys that are a major cut above everyone else...I have never been a big fan of Stanton and the fact that he is the 1 seed (at home) made the decision to put one unit on Judge a no brainer for me...I do feel Judge has a slight edge here if nothing else because he is a better pure hitter, its close to a coin toss and the odds are better on Judge...

103 Aaron Judge wins Home Run Derby +215* vs Field wins Home Run Derby

I would think Judge would be a popular choice with all the publicity he gets by a hitting a HR everyday, lol.

Definitely don't see Stanton repeating, seems too obvious. This is my favorite part of the AS break.

Following you to the window, BOL.:0008

I also liked Bour but I only pick 2 in this contest...Judge is popular for good reason, guy is a bit of a freak...should be a pretty entertaining evening...gl

One thing I've noticed in the last couple of derbys, is that, whoever is most comfortable with his 'pitcher' seems to be the one who hits the most homers. The pitcher definitely has a big part in it. You can see some of the hitters get a little tense when the pitches don't come in just right, and they start to press.

Completely agree with you...bp pitcher extremely important...not really sure how we research that???

The man Judge wants to pitch to him at this year's Home Rub Derby, should he choose to accept the invitation.

Danilo Valiente, the Yankees' batting practice pitcher and coaching assistant.

-----------------------

Before he accepted an invitation to Monday?s Home Run Derby at Marlins Park in Miami, Dodgers rookie first baseman Cody Bellinger had to make sure his preferred pitcher for the event could get off work.

Clay Bellinger will be standing in front of the mound Monday, tossing meatballs to his 21-year-old son, who is one home run off the National League lead with 25 at the all-star break despite spending the first three weeks of the season in the minors.

Cody Bellinger isn?t the first major leaguer to pick his father to throw to him in one of baseball?s best exhibitions.

Obviously this would be hard to research, but I can't remember a father-son combo doing well in the HR derby and that exact point above about rhythm comes into play big time when you've got somebody throwing BP pitches who isn't used to doing it is tough.

GL everyone.

I'm going with Judge, but only because I'm a homer and I'll be betting this for fun

When your not used to throwing in front of a shit ton of people or a massive stadium it can make you a little nervy...it takes a bit to get used too for everybody, I can't even imagine pulling my old man off the couch to throw in front of millions with a running clock

thanks guys...Judge went from rookie of the year to one of the best in the game last night...wish I could have seen the spray chart of all his homerun's...An old manager of mine who used to be Rod Carew's back up with the Angels would have said, "That guy can "Roll The Poll"

I'll have a couple kickball plays up in a bit for those of you looking for something with a couple days off
