Atlanta +.5 (+125): A tie against Ottawa is always a good thing to come into a game for the Trashers. But the Rangers are still hot. Good value also, as mentioned by ddubs in his thread.

I like this pick for all the reasons mentioned in ddubs thread early this morning.


SAN JOSE -.5 (+115)
Wake up call for San Jose tonight. I haven't touched any of their games lately due to their inconsistencies. Although tonight, I feel they will break out of their below-than-expected play. They have taken on 4 hot teams into this one, losing the last one in OT after giving up the lead with 13 seconds left in the game. Ron Wilson will get them back in gear for tonight. Minnesota is playing well thanks to sound defense and timely goals. But the Sharks have only "eaten a win" once in their last 10 games. I'm sure they can settle to devore anything "wild"! One other thing, I'm not sure what Nabokov must of felt when Hackett got temporarily traded to San Jose... maybe he knew that it was to prepare the other deal... but if not... maybe he'll do something good about it!

Thanks ddubs! You're right about the Sharks, they have been very unpredictable. I think they needed something to re-direct the attention from their recent woes and the trade for McLaren is just the kind of thing they needed.

About laying off, a psychological win is sometimes much more rewarding than a win itself... No matter what the outcome is, there are many games left in the regular season, you'll get them back somewhere down the road.
