got duke and tech + points working for the games.

add: duke (+4) (+108) for the 2nd half

duke is not a team you want to play from behind, plain and simple. gonna be awfully tough for uconn to put sustained runs together. if uconn can reclaim this lead then more power to 'em. but very few teams beat duke by rallying in the 2nd half. if you dont win the 1st half vs duke, you rarely win the game and i just dont see uconn making the necessary push

Could not agree more. If Duke makes layups, they are up 15. Uconn not running anything resembling an offense. No point guard play. Good luck.

My best bet is applying to become free throw coach for Uconn. Uconn makes a run and loses game at end by missing free throws.

GL Gman, I'm on the other side. Duke only made a run when Okafor went out. If I was them, I would have wanted to be up more then 7 when he sat out all that time in the 2nd H. I think Connecticut takes over & wins comfortably.

GL though

bear you could very well be right, but duke could be one of the best teams in the country in terms of stepping on the opponents throat when they have em down at halftime.

obviously uconn is not gonna go quietly. theyre the most talented team in the country.

uconn killing themselves at the line. percentages say thats NOT going to improve in the 2h

gl bear. appreciate the opposing perspective

===

mr hockey: how many was duke supposed to go up by with okafor out? its not like uconn is a one man team. devils took advantage of his abscence but i think its a little much to assume that duke 'should be up more'. those arent exactly misfits out there in husky unis.

if uconn comes back to win comfortably, it will mean that duke did something they rarely if EVER do -- lose a second half convincingly. so if i go down, itll be with a dominant 2h team

we'll see how it goes. good luck hockey. enjoy the 2h

Seriously, I have said this a million times. This DOES NOT WIN THESE TOURNEY GAMES. Guard play does. Plain and simple. That's who has the ball in their hands down the stretch. If you want to spot Ewing/Duhon/Redick 7 points with Brown/Gordon/Anderson, then go ahead. But who plays better from these two groups wins the game.

Just go through the tourney games. The team whose backcourt played better covers about 90% of the time. This is even better when the dog's backcourt plays better.

The points in the paint all set up by drive and dish by guards. Have you seen much ISO POST UP. NO NO NO.

Okafor when healthy is arguably the most dominant player in the game. He sat out over 16 mins. Duke let UCONN hang around with Okafor on the bench & that imo sets up just right for UCONN in the 2nd H.
