As Dnuggets mentioned in another thread, "Anyone remember nites like this", the lines tonite were very tight in most games. It's logical since very few college games are going the linesmaker can spend more time on each game. PLUS, add in no NHL, and it stood to reason the lines would be close tonite. My reasoning for mentioning this is next week, or any week where there is a short schedule, say, SUPER BOWL Sunday for instance. Keep this in mind when playing HT's:
When lines are tight, play TO the Line...
in other words, make your decisions biased towards the closing line on the game... tonite for example, I wasn't around, DANGIT!, but let's look at some results.
ATL/WASH -6/190 HT score WA 54-44 play ATL and UNDER = WW
NY/IND -2 188 HT score IN 53-40 play NY & No total = W
SA/MIA PK 174.5 HT MIA 51-42 play SPURS and UNDER = WW
MIN/BOS MIN -4 197 HT score BOS 43-38 play MINN and OV = WW
ORL/DET -4 194 HT score DET 47-39 play ORL and OV = WL
LA/MEM LA -12 199 HT score MEM 44-43 play LAKERS / OV = WW
CHAR/HOU -2 186 HT score CHA 40-35 play HOU and OV = WL
GST/PHOE -6 199 HT score PHO 56-44 play GST (maybe OV) = W
DEN/SAC -14 205 HT score SAC 71-51 play DEN & UN = LL **
** this game could have qualified as a pass all together with SAC having a 20 pt HT lead... too many times a team will simply quit. I probably still play the UNDER though, maybe both, but after a big nite winning, I probably pass on it...
EVEN losing both ends of SAC game leaves you at 12-4 by simply playing any game where you get a 4 pt or more advantage TOWARDS the closing line... doesn't work like this ALL the time, but look for it more often on short cards, like FRI nites!
Good job tonite guys, wish I hadn't been busy!
BTW, here's MY bad beat tale of the nite... watching the LAKERS sleep walk the FH, I call in to FIRE AWAY on LAKERS and OVER, OVER for 3 units, LAKERS for FOUR.... only to find out I'm watching a taped delay!

The guy at WAGERSTREET thought I was drunk or something :nono: Nope, just forgot these local LA channels won't start a LAKERS game before 6 pm very often. Guy tells me I'm lucky since the LAKERS were still down at end of 3rd or something. Little did he know!! LAKERS rolled in the fourth...
