-Jersey is 17-16 minus 1/2 oon the road while Boston is 23-12 plus 1/2 at home. Jersey has lost 3 of 4 including 2 of those against non-playoff teams. Boston has a two game home winning streak, but has given up 16 goals in their last 3 games, 2 of them losses. Jersey has won the last 3 meetings including both games this season.

-Rangers are expecting to win this game tonight. They have given up 2 or less goals in 5 straight and they were skewered on talk radio after that home loss to Florida. Sens have won 4 straight, scoring at least 4 in all four games. Ottawa has won all three meetings this year. This is 4 in 6 for Ottawa, but the way they are playing, who knows if it matters?

-Philly has scored exactly 1 goal in three straight but are favored by 1 1/2 tonight. How can that possibly be? Carolina was badly outplayed last night but won based on a miracle performance by Patrick DesRochers. First game for Philly since acquiring Amonte, so one would expect a big performance.

-Home/road splits here are actually in favor of Columbus, 21-14 compared to 19-15. Avs have failed to score over 3 in their last 5, but that may be enough as Roy has given up 1, 1, 1 and 2 in his last 4 starts. Jackets are playing a non b2b 3 in 4 and 4 in 6. Last non b2b 3 in 4 they lost to San Jose 6-0. Oddly enough, the Avs have 3-2 OT wins both times they have preceded a game vs. their top rival, Detroit.

... more to come.

Work has come up so I can't finish notes for the rest of the games. A couple of quickies...

-Plenty of injuries and new faces for the Leafs, but they do have a history of crushing Calgary. Kidd supposedly will start in that game.

-Vancouver's motivation may go up or down based on the Colorado result earlier in the night. If Colorado takes the loss to the Jackets, the Canucks may lose some of the necessity in their play.

I really think the Blues will win tonight. Vancouver's defense has been terrible lately and if Osgood plays he has a great history vs. Vancouver. That said, I am not playing it because at +1/2 +100 I just don't see the value. If you find the game at +120 or better (probably not going to happen), I would take it in a heartbeat. At +110, I would probably still endorse it. As good as Vancouver is, though, I just cannot pull the trigger at +100.
