Lalime & Kidd get the start in nets tonight in what should be a tight game. Florida was in Ott. last night resting while the Sens were playing NYI. Very good chance Bonk will be out tonight as well which will hurt Ott. up the middle as they are already without Fisher. I think I will take a pass but might be back later as I find out any injuries. Chara will return on D for Sens.

Even though the Leafs are banged up this team has character and alot of pride. NYI played last night and won't have the same legs the Leafs do. If Tor. can get a quick start it will go a long way to carrying them to a win.

Playing:

Tor. - PK.(-160)
Dal. - PK.(-130)
Van. -.5(-210)

Also leaning to a few totals, back later.

GL tonight!

ND2002HORNS,
Good call on the Sens last night, much needed road win for them to get some confidence back. I still can't figure out why Osgood did not play. Snow gave up a few soft goals last night, how does a guy like that still have a job in the NHL?
Toronto got some much needed production from some of its roll players the other night against the Lightning. I might have to lay off this one because it seems like every time I bet a team and they lose, the next night I bet against that same team and they find a way to win. Good luck and keep up the great work tonight$$$$

jakejj,

Thanks for the kind words. As for NYI, they would be better calling up Rick Dipietro and send Snow down to the minors. Alot of teams are hard to figure out right now so tread lightly, I am only playing games I feel super about, anything I hestitate with when it comes to a team I take a pass.

One Giant Leap

Little takes big step tonight in Carolina

By Brian Marks

Since Roman Cechmanek went down with an ankle sprain on March 2 against the New York Rangers, Brian Boucher has tended net for 12 consecutive games. With the playoffs approaching and Cechmanek?s exact return date still unclear, Head Coach Bill Barber has "Neiled" down a decision to give Boucher a "Little" rest, all puns intended.

Yes, that?s right. Neil Little will finally make his NHL debut tonight in Carolina against the Southeast Division leading Hurricanes. Drafted in the 11th round and 226th overall of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, Little has been the definition of apprentice, spending nine years as a member of the Flyers organization without playing a single minute for the parent club.

After 43 games as a NHL back-up over six seasons, Little gets the chance that he has so waited his whole life for ? a start in the "big show".

?I?m doing what I love to do and I knew sooner or later something good was going to happen,? Little told the media on Wednesday. ?It?s turned out for the best. I stuck around a lot of years and it paid off. I couldn?t be happier.?

Little has been recalled to the Flyers seven times alone this season. He has registered an 11-14-6 record and 92.3% in 31 games for the Phantoms this year. His 2.06 goals-against-average was second in the AHL upon his latest recall.

?Bouch has played quite a bit of late and we thought it would be a good idea to give him a break,? Barber said of his decision. ?It?s been a long time coming for Little. It?s well deserved. He?s been a great soldier for us at the other level. I feel comfortable with him going in playing.?

Little will try to hold the Flyers' 16-0-2-0 record against the Southeast Division intact. A win or a tie tonight and April 8 against Florida will make them just the fifth team in NHL history to go undefeated against an entire division for a whole season since the League went to a division format for the 1974-75 season. They would join the 1976-77 Flyers, the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens, the 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers and the 1993-94 Buffalo Sabres.

A win tonight would also give the Flyers their 23rd road victory of the season, breaking a mark reached in 1973-74 and 1996-97, both years in which the Flyers reached the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Hurricanes broke one of strangest NHL records last week when they recorded their seventh consecutive home tie against the Montreal Canadiens on March 21. Carolina finally broke that streak with a victory on Saturday over Florida.

While they lead the League with 14 ties and 25 overtime games, the Hurricanes are on the verge of clinching their second Southeast Division title in four seasons. They currently hold a six-point edge on the second place Washington Capitals with one game in hand.

stats are pretty good for a goalie whos team has won only 11
out of 31 with 2.06 goals against ( no empty net goals included i guess )
saving% is good too.
11-14-6 92.3% in 31 2.06 goals-against-average

it is his Big Night and i think team will be with him, Philly was
good enough to win NYR without pushing too hard.

I'm on Philly -.5 +130 and under 5 +110

Good luck

Throwing in my two cents, I agree Philly will tighten up in the defensive end tonight and give Little his first NHL win.
Flyers again have been a much better team on the road than at home this year and have so much depth up front. Carolina has been struggling of late and they have been struggling to score goals.
Good luck tonight $$$$

Info for the Leafs game tonight, TSN is reporting that Eric Cairns was given a 2 game suspension for sucker punching Radek Bonk last night. This leaves NYI even more thin on D. Cairns is the 4th defenseman, with Jonsson, Hamrlik & Aucoin getting 30 min. a game this means their 3rd pairing on D is going to have to step it up and I doubt it as NYI has no depth on D.

Hey guys. I'm no super capper or anything but I'm laying off Philly tonight.

Tonight is their 3rd game in 4 nights
Tonight is their 4th game in 6 nights
Tonight is their 5th game in 8 nights

Plus it's back to back on the road.

With all the games out there tonight - this one isn't it for me.

Good luck out there.

I am liking the Leafs more and more. Thanks for the info HORNS

good luck Horns, saw that cheap shot to bonk at the end of last nights game, thought lalime looked pretty strong...

since you are playing dal, i thought i'd try to share some info--
"Roman Turek, who's 9-1-2 lifetime against his first NHL club, will be back in nets for the Flames after getting the hook Saturday in Edmonton and backing up Mike Vernon in Monday's win. The Stars have taken the unusual step of skipping the game-day skate and Rick Wilson would not tip his hand Wednesday on the identity of his starting 'keeper. The hunch is he'll turn to Marty Turco because of his shutout performance in Calgary earlier this season. Eddie Belfour is 0-2 against the Flames this year. "

Much made in today's paper about the stars falling behind early and then having to play their top guys way too many minutes. much emphasis tonight placed on getting the first goal. dallas as you know is an altogether completely different team if they can score the first goal--lehtinen looks to be doubtful tonight, wilson hasnt stuck to any concrete lines in forever, he mixes and matches since they have no "O" right now..

wigs,

Thanks for the Dal. info. Like you said it wouldn't surprise me to see Turco in which is not a bad move. Lehtinen is a big hurt for the Stars being out as long as he has. He strengthens their LW position. The Arnott trade seems to be a long term thing and so much a short term cure for Dal. With Arnott 8 years younger and getting the first round pick, the Stars are looking ahead as well. Dal. needs this game so much tonight.

You are right, Lalime looked very solid but he needs to keep it up down the stretch. Bonk is very doubtful, looks like a concussion so I am sure if they are not sure about him he will sit. If he misses more than 2 games, Cairns should be gone just as long. What a trade off, Bonk out for an average D.

jakejj,

I like the Flyers & Habs but I already have 3 plays. I am going to pass on the Sens as the Centers for Ott. are White, Ylonen, Herperger & possibly Havlat out of position. This means a grinder on the second line. Sens should win but too many uncertainties. Sticking with my original 3 plays.

GL Everyone!
