And now, things get real.

On Tuesday, the Giants will practice with a partner, working out with the Bengals here. It's the first of two joint practices between the two teams ahead of Friday night's preseason opener at Paul Brown Stadium.

The sessions should be intense, and for the eternally banged-up Giants, on a two-year run of piling up injury after injury, they should be about survival. Big Blue arrives in Cincy having left several key players home ? including corner Prince Amukamara (groin) and lineman Geoff Schwartz (ankle) ? and the last thing it needs are any more critical injuries.

Here's a look at what to watch (or listen) for from Cincinnati:

FIGHT CLUBS?

Linebacker Jon Beason called the Bengals a "chippy" bunch, and the Giants have been feisty throughout their own training camp, already with three skirmishes among their own players. Can both clubs stay cool in Cincinnati, especially when each is trying to prove its toughness?

Giants coach Tom Coughlin has said he wants to avoid any off-field fighting. Will his players listen? That remains to be seen.

ODELL VS. THE BENGALS

This should be fun. Thus far in Giants camp, Odell Beckham Jr. has done everything to show that last year was no fluke, toasting any and every corner that's tried to cover him. The Bengals have a stacked secondary though, with feisty Adam Jones, 2014 first-rounder Darqueze Dennard, veteran Leon Hall and Dre Kirkpatrick.

At the very least, one-on-one drills should be fun. Just hope Beckham doesn't reinjure that always-annoying hamstring.

THE GIANTS D-LINE

Giants defensive linemen have done everything in their power to claim that they could thrive without Jason Pierre-Paul, and now?s their chance to prove it. They'll face a Bengals offense that's driven by the run game, with Jeremy Hill (Odell Beckham's ex-college teammate) and Gio Bernard leading the way.
