Y-T-D MLB Lightning Recap
MLB Regular Season '03: 19-19 (+2.86 units)
Favs: 5-4 (+2.40 units)
Dogs: 8-6 (+7.06 units)
Overs: 5-3 (+2.30 units)
Unders: 1-3 (-4.90 units)
Parlays: 0-3 (-4.00 unit)

Back in the plus column but I am still a bit disappointed with my start and yesterdays results cause I really liked the card. Unders in which I usually prosper are not coming through yet but they will. Parlays in which I generally play huge favorites in which the price is too high have been terrible as Pedro, RJ and other stud pitchers are pitching well but there teams are not hitting for them. This will likely turn around as well as those guys are too good to continue losing. Anyway, we'll see if we can have a better week. Goal for the year is at least +100 units and I will probably stop wagering on baseball around the time football starts up.

Back later with today's selections?

I'd still take it ... at worst, you get a push if it lands on 9.

Although Pavano pitched decent in his first outing against the Phils, he has never lived up to his potential and is very inconsistent. Ortiz is a decent pitcher but he played in San Francisco at a pitchers park so his ERA should rise a bit this year and the Marlins are an aggressive team which can manufacture runs.

~Patel~

It's really funny that the 2 games you played that I didn't, I was considering.

I decided against playing the Giants over cause the Padres are a weak hitting team and the game is at a pitchers park with 2 good hurlers. Oliver Perez walked 6 in his first outing but if he has control, he has very good stuff. I actually happen to have both Perez and Schmidt on my fantasy roster.

As for the Pirates, they were impressive against my Phillies this weekend and they are a decent team who should improve over last year. The Brewers are terrible but they will eventually win a game and Rusch always pitches well early in the season.

Good Luck on those ... I'll be pulling for you.

Lightning, since there is not much to go on yet, I am going on last year's record in the overs when either of Schmidt or Perez pitched. 4-1-1.

As for Pitt, merely playing the better team and the streaks.

Good luck to you.
