Nick,

Is there anything in particular that makes you like the Canes tonight? Isles are 3-0 against Carolina this year, and they are playing much better hockey than the Canes are recently. I know carolina is feeling the heat from Washington so these are important games, but the Islanders have a shot at catching Philly (4 pts back, last game against the Flyers). Just curious for your input...thanks in advance.

Careful of thinking they might have a let down. If NYI wins tonight they are tied with Ott. & Tor.
All of a sudden they can end up with home ice advantage. If NYI wins tonight and the Leafs lose, NYI will have the tied breaker with Tor. & Ott. due to more wins which is the first tie breaker.
Tread lightly CI with that theory.

GL Nick!

Don't forget the Isles still have a chance at catching the Flyers which would move them to the # 2 team in the playoffs .

Look for the Isles to play theses last games like the playoffs.

Thanks for the input, guys. Isles have been outshot seven straight times and though they are winning, history shows that teams that get outshot and win eventually hit a slide. Carolina faced a lot of criticism from the Raliegh media (if you believe such a thing even exists in hockey) for the home tie with Atlanta so I expect a huge game from a team that scores more consistently on two lines than the Isles.

I know they still have a shot at a higher position in the standings, but I'm just looking at an emotional letdown after Saturday after clincing a playoff spot after so long.
Carolna is only a few points away from being out of the playoffs, seems the trend this year is when teams don't play well come back strong the next.
