opps wasn't talking about the pirates. Talking about the other attackers that seem to bother us.

Arrogance and stupidity is the reason for the 4 deaths. Rich folk with a big boat thinks they can boldly sail wherever the fuck they want. The Obama Clan does not owe anyone anything in this matter.

Is there anything anywhere that isn't the U.S fault. Sheez The world wide liberal apologetic tour. 1st it be a long walk from Afgan and Pakistan for the pirites to travel to get arms when bulk of arms dealers in the world are on their doorstep.

You could stop these pirate attacks in their tracks--quite simply. Put a merc team with no U.S. allegiance (so gov won't give pirate captives a hand job and a lawyer) and put one on every vessel carrying cargo. 1st couple time they hit --send one back alive and let them know what they got to look forward to and that will be the end of it--yachts--diff story--they got no business in that area--but would make good bait :SIB

First I never said it was America's fault, but the fact that we provided weapons and money to the very people who are attacking us now shows that we lack foresight and perhaps should not ruthlessly supply these kinds of tools to people around the world. I am suggesting that instead we use the money to provide literacy and other humanitarian aid. It is arguable whether or not we provoke people to attack us, but certainly if we would provide more humanitarian aid, it would be seen as some form of goodwill.

Second, I also never said that the Somalis went up to Afghanistan and Pakistan to get weapons. I just used this situation as an analogy. The U.S. provided weapons directly to Somalia. A short history lesson - during the cold war, the U.S. had a strong ally in Ethiopia and Haile Selassie. The U.S. supplied arms and money to Ethiopia to fight off Somalia. The Soviet Union gave arms to Somalia. After Ethiopia fell to the Dergue political party, the Soviets started supporting Ethiopia and their new communist philosophy. Therefore, the U.S. started supplying arms and money to Somalia to fight Ethiopia. I know this in part because I enjoy reading about history, but also because I grew up with many Ethiopian refugees in my home, some of whom had a high-ranking father in the Ethiopian government. Now, how much this scenario makes sense is a whole nother story.

Anyway, the point is that we supplied weapons to this part of the world, and now these weapons are being used to kill Americans. Whether or not you want to argue about the "barbarianism" of these people or the "provocation" that we give them is a whole new argument. I am just stating facts and suggesting that in the future, we are more careful about who we send high powered weapons.
