gardenweasel- 3 of my top 5 would also be:
Hombre, ("Give us the $ or we shoot the Girl," "OK Shoot the Girl!")
The Thing- I liked the remake better- but both XLNT.
Reservoir Dogs, and I haven't seen Goodfellas or Lonesome Dove so I'd probably list Evil Dead 1 & Vanishing Point.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
The Wild Bunch---Blood and Guts Peckinpah at his peak with stunning cast! Hell of a body count too.

Raising Arizona---still the Coen bros best. tho Lebowski is so good...

Touch of Evil---Orson Wells plays a fat corrupt border cop in his film here featuring jaw-dropping camera work and Heston doing turn as a mexican federales.

The Searchers----Wayne and Ford at their best. nuf said

The General---Buster Keaton's finest, and filmed here in Oregon. Pure genius.

A Bronx Tale
Bull Durham
Heat
Tombstone
The Goonies

... and Can't Buy Me Love, perhaps the most underappreciated 80's teen film of all time!!!
