Scott-Atl - only after posting and talking to a few friends did I remember True Romance... one of the best endings in my book! :D

Adding to the Under-Appreciated:

1) Dune - a Top 5 sci-fi classic
2) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - I can watch this one over and over.
3) Things To Do In Denver When You Are Dead - anyone who hasn't seen this one should rent it this week along with True Romance.
4) The Rock - Arguably one of the great lines of all time, "Losers always whine about doing their best, winners go home and f**k the Prom Queen!!!"
5) Predator - Come on... what guy hasn't seen this movie at least 10 times. Better than any VanDamme, Chuck Norris, Segal or even a Rambo flick. Arnold and Jesse the Body kick ass!

Big Lebowski <- Simply great in every way possible. Holds up great to repeated viewings. If you wrote it off when you first saw it, please see it again. I could go on for hours about this movie.

Once Upon A Time in the West (most other Leone westerns, too). The opening 15 minutes of this is great. See it just for the scene where Henry Fonda delivers "well, now that he knows my name."

Cuckoo's Nest

The Long Goodbye (The original Big Lebowski). Altman's finest.

Shawshank is a movie I just can't turn away from. It's pretty standard fare, but really gives ya what ya want.

Silence of the Lambs is probably the best thriller ever made (not that I really respect the Oscars, but it did win best actor, actress, director, and picture, as did Cuckoo's Nest -- the only two movies since the 40's or so to do it. That's a good trivia question for you.).

Just one thing... *IF* you're going to put Casino on your list, at least put Godfather or Goodfellas (preferably both) ahead of it. It's not even in the same league, IMO.

I do like "12 Angry Men" which some guys had. The old one AND the new one. (See the new one. Don't be turned off by Tony Danza. he's supposed to be an annoying guy, so there ya go. George C. Scott is great. Jack Lemmon, James Gandolfini, Edward J. Olmos. With basically the same teleplay, and similar directing, this is a great movie, as was the original.)

Don't like "Braveheart" at all. Lots of guys do, though.

Mobbers: I like Godfather, Goodfellas, and Donnie Brasco quite a bit. I think Al Pacino's best role since Scarface was in Donnie Brasco.

Don't know how I left him off, but I would add, in no particular order,
Pulp Fiction
Resevoir Dogs
Jackie Brown

I just think Tarantino is a great movie maker. He's just very original and daring and creative and then, just flat out entertaining.

After RD, and PF, to be able to simply tell a straightforward story, as in JB , showed that he's not just a big bag of tricks. All 3 of these really hold up to repeated viewings which is a good sign, too.

Movies

Hard to limit?.but if I had to pick 5 to watch on that preverbal desert island they would be?.

Breakfast Club ? classic: fun childhood angst storyline plus it brings back so many memories of my childhood I always stop to watch it on TNT.

Pulp Fiction- ?The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides??are you kidding me. This movie has some of the best quotes in any movie ?EVER. I quote it at least once every two days. ?I?m a mushroom cloud laying mutha facka, mutha facka any time my fingers touch brian I?m certified TNT. I?m the Guns of the Navarone. In fact what the fack am I doing in the back? You the mutha facker who should be on brain detail?we?re f-cking switching. I?m washing the windows and your picking up this Niggas skull.?

Natural Born Killers- the extra long directors cut is excellent. It truly tells the story of how our media make heroes of villains.

Shawshank Redemption- Just for that 2 minuets that he locked himself in the guard shack and played the music.

GoodFellas- Hank Hill should never of come out of hiding. Kinda spoiled it a little. Great story, great cast Great Movie.

Honorable Mention:

Godfathers (1 & 2)
Reservoir Dogs (I?m facking dying overherre)
Silence of the Lambs

Recent Good Movies I?ve seen:

THE RING
A Beautiful Mind
Gladitor

Bet on MyBookie
