The Big Lebowski

The Big Lebowski

what an amazingly under-appreciated comedy!!!!!

the subtle sharp humor is mind-numbing...ive seen the movie about 100 times and its still hilarious.

"i am the walrus?"....lol

opening scene at the grocery store...

"what the f*ck is this?...."you're obviously not a golfer!"

dont forget the great soundtrack, who wouldve ever guessed Kenny Rogers could make such a great song...one of my all time favorites. "what condition my condition is in" and Los Lobos singing "hotel california"

john turturro plays a frighteningly funny character

i could go on and on

p.s. right up there with Lebowski is "Dr. Strangelove"...dont get me started on that one. WAAAAAAAAY ahead of its time, remarkable cold war satire.

THEKIDWHOCOULD!

Guffman is simply the funniest movie ever, enough said.

the new one: "A Mighty Wind" is VERY disappointing. i saw it yesterday. what a let down. i'm a HUGE fan of Christopher Guest and his cohorts...A Mighty Wind missed big time.

i hate to say it but i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

ugh

and finally, to me, the one that totally summarized the turbulent 1960's and raised everyone's consciousness to another level was

" um, nick nick nick" EASY RIDER

louthesz- "Easy rider" OMFG I forgot about that one. I remember I was in 'High School' when it came out. Also remember, (don't know how), 'Zacharaiah- The First Electric Western.' Old enough to get in but still too young for the times. We all pooled $ for a 'nickel bag' and even smoked during the movie- it wasn't exactly an epic. The Old West Bad Guys were dope smoking hippies and they were chasing a stagecoach to rob it. After a long chase, the Stage out ran them- LOL- Good Old Days.
And David Lynch, (Eraserhead I believe), is something else if anyone recalls 'Twin Peaks.':weed:

Top 8, not in any significant order:

This is Spinal Tap--still a classic
Casino--a staple for every gambler
Planes, Trains & Automobiles--anyone who travels can relate
Pulp Fiction
Very Bad Things-a very underrated black comedy/cult classic
Meet the Parents
Fargo--people either really like, or dislike. I liked
Waiting for Guffman--as good as it is, "Tap" is still Guest and McKean's best work

I watched "lebowski" again this weekend.

I find myself laughing at that cop "oh yeah. . .we got 'em working in shifts down at the station. LEADS!" That's probably my favorite scene.

I'm very psyched for Matrix 2. Read this weekend that it's going to blow everything else away F/X-wise.

Got to see X2, also.

Lot's of stuff out. Rememeber a time when the biggies didn't start until memorial day?
