Keeping the starters healthy is a top priority

1. Hit 'em!

The last time these two teams played, Feb. 2 in New Jersey, the Seahawks bullied the Broncos. Denver has been living with that embarrassing showing the past six months. Preseason or no preseason, Broncos pride is at stake.

2. Just don't get hurt

Flexing the male ego is one thing. Getting into harm's way is another. Keeping the regulars healthy is a top goal of any preseason game.

3. Block!

The Broncos' primary offensive adjustment from the Super Bowl was to tweak 60 percent of their offensive line. The new front, anchored by the return of left tackle Ryan Clady, must keep Peyton Manning clean through his 10 to 12 plays.

4. Second-chance Hillman

Starting running back Montee Ball is recovering from an appendectomy. Ronnie Hillman will be the starter Thursday. He started in preseason game at Seattle last year, too, then he fumbled crossing the goal line. Hillman has something to prove.

5. A touchdown drive by Brock and the No. 2s

Backup quarterback Brock Osweiler will get more playing time than Manning. Osweiler could use a touchdown drive to continue to build his confidence as he begins his third NFL season.

This game is worthless-no meaning at all--Denver TV stations are blowing this one up big.
Only one goal it should be--don't get Manning hurt
