People overreacting way to much and getting crazy during bowl season in regards to dominance and the SEC.


Sec still gets best talent
Sec still has superior coaching
Sec is still a top conference


But the other big boys have closed the gap....


End of story. Why people cant just let it be what it is.....i am a PSU guy....like big 10....but i know if big 10 wins title it doesn't make my dick bigger....so who cares if SEC is better

Sec had great 8 years. Why cant it be just that... they were awesome.....but haven't won either of past two now....so to say they are still the best today because of that dominant run is wrong.....
to argue they are the best right now because of the current athletes and coaches is a fair point....but we cant use the past....penn state had dominant runs in thee past....to say they should still be in the "best program" discussion because of that is dumb...

Bragging about beating penn state now is like being excited about being the tallest midget....your still small....

Anyways SEC is still the most well rounded conference...no doubt....but not by much and definitely not because they had a good 8 year run....its because they are stil good now....


Big 10 pac 12 and parts of big 12 are closing the gap....a lot...by next year one may be on top....has me wanting sun beltvto win few bowl games and see the sun belt guys start calling for a shot in the final 4

Yeah man, totally agree. SEC has been dominant conference since 1980's. I intentionally didn't even click on the SEC Fraud thread. People want to look at bowls like they also want to look at NCAA tournament in basketball and judge everything. You just can't do it that way.

I'm a UNC fan who also likes Notre Dame. I love SEC Football but do hate it when they get the benefit of the doubt every time. I hate it when they start out so highly ranked and its ok if they lose a game or 2, etc. Then again, I also hate a team like FSU joining the weak ACC and dominating....and hate the Big Ten for playing a bunch of out of conference chumps and acting like they're great. And the Pac 12....good lord play some defense. So maybe its all relative.

I also hate when a fan cheers for a team just b/c they are in the conference. As a UNC fan, I like UNC....I don't give a shit about any other team in the ACC. I may like some and dislike some....but I'll never pull for a team just b/c they are in the same conference.

I love big-time college football and wish you could take about 6 teams from the SEC, throw in Notre Dame (their "independent..ce" is about to piss even me off) a few big ten teams, a few ACC, a few Pac 12, TCU, Boise, Baylor....etc.....get about 40-50 of the best college programs and just make it a league. Conferences with divisions.....play your way into the playoffs with wildcards...and just break away from the bowl bullshit.

The hell with "student athletes" its a fraud anyway. Just a semi-pro league with at least 30 teams and just play it where the best records make the playoffs etc. Got a little off-track here, but yeah, SEC is still dominant and having a down year in bowl games. Bowl games are quite interesting but also really weird. I love when the announcers talk about how important it is to win an average bowl has on recruiting. I can't tell you one result from last year's bowl games unless it involved UNC, Notre Dame, or the national title.

Hell yes man. I would love less teams with much more depth/talent!

Although nothing to bet on maction tuesdays!
