I wouldn't pay that for any except Torrey. I would rather play Sawgrass than Pebble, and Bethpage Black than Pinehurst.

Im gonna play Oakmont sometime this summer for $225 plus caddie fee. I have the round already paid for which I did yesterday, just need to schedule the time as it is through a cancer charity which I just bought the round upfront before it went to raffle.

So. Cal
having played 3 of the 5 i can offer a few opinions

torrey north is by far easier than torrey south, which i'd recommend in a heart beat. for residents my cost is anywhere from $20-$60 to play the either course depending on time of year.

pebble is clearly overpriced and is definitely not a place i'd play very often for $500, its not terribly difficult and there are a bunch of worthless holes with no ocean views. however its almost a must to play at least once but as the article suggests, spyglass is a much better course and much cheaper at $380ish

wynn...forget it
