6-1 on 5 Unit plays so far this season and playoffs

NJ/Ott series should be a tight affair tonight. NJ is already making changes on D due to the many times they were brunt wide. Daneyko and Tverdovsky are out, Albilein and Smehlik are in. Speed kills, the D don't play as high at the blueline when you have extreme speed at forward therefore the D collapse down low more when the opposing team is attacking therefore allowing the forwards more laterral movement which opens up the shooting lanes and creates more chances. I think NJ clamps down big tonight but it would not surprise me either if Ott. wins. NJ knows they can't get down 2-0 and then have to win 4 of the next 5. Ott. will wait for a mistake by NJ before they commit themselves tonight. Should be a good one.

Playing:

NJ/Ott. u4.5(+110)5 Units

GLTA!

HORNS, best of luck with your pick tonite. You probably already know this crazy trend, but I thought I'd bring it up just in case......

12 of L14 Conf Finals Game2 went OVER 4.5:eek:, most of them were not even close, we're talking like 4-3 type of score.

Why is that? Heck if I know:confused: :D

0-1 Tonight

Sorry guys. Bad call. I really thought Brodeur won that game for NJ on several occasions. If the Sens are without Redden this will hurt big time. He is easily the best D on the ice for both teams. I thought Lalime played lousy:(
PP was dreadful for the Sens but the refs have got to call this bullshit interference and holding that is going on. Blatant trip on the 3rd goal by NJ, it was replayed over and over, how the hell do they turn a blind eye. It is almost like well....we have called too many on NJ so we have to even it out, even if NJ continues to commit infractions. NJ was not 3 goals better than Ott. tonight.
Sens are 3-0 after a loss this year in the playoffs. Ott. outchanced NJ badly, up in the press box the official stats had it at 14-6 in favour of Ott. If the Sens finish their chances a little better on Thursday they come away with the win. Sens are 4-1 on the road in the playoffs and I expect a super effort by Lalime.

Tough nite, HORNS. But you'll get it back in no time;) :) .

I agree that the refs had a hand in the outcome tonite. The problem with playing against NJ is that a lot of times it's up to the refs. If they let the grabbing, obstructing (they were calling them in the regular season), tripping, all that extracurricular stuff go, then the obvious advantage is to NJ, and they get away with murder. Some refs call everything and establish his presence right away, some don't call jack chit at all, and some swallow their whistles if they call too many penalties on one team. I think that was the case tonite. One of my friends (wazup, Brett :D ) has been tallying ref info and penalties called by the refs over the last yr and more, and I think it's a diamond in the rough. Could be a HUGE advantage when playing totals next yr. But I'm getting side-tracked here. LOVE the Sens on Thursday:D

Remember our slogan: "Cut the chit, the Sens in Six!" :D

Good luck, buddy.:toast:

Horns sorry to see you lose that play on a goal in the last five minutes that did not really matter.
As for the game itself I believe the Sens blew it by not getting anything going in the first 10 minutes when they had 4 power plays.
I am not saying this to you directly as I like everything you say about the game and the Sens but why is it that when they lose the people in Ottawa blame it on the refs and the clutching and grabbing and all the other things that only the other teams seem to be doing. I have seen Ottawa play live enough time to say they are not angels and they do there share of things on the ice that should be called, This is the same thing that is said every year when they play Toronto and it is getting tired to hear it all over the radio every time they lose a game.
Sorry to vent in your thread and like I said no offence to you but as a listener to the radio here it is rediculous how after every loss the people here blame the refs and lose confidence in the same team that the day before they were talking about sweeping (your pal Dandy is a main problem with this)

Thank you so much, you have it on the money with this team. I can't stand how everytime they lose, a live search is on for the scapegoat to blame. I'm sick of it as well as others I know who are up there.

Some might call me biased because I'm from the tri state area but honestly I can't stand the Devils. It was bad enough it felt like we would play the first period down a man but please Ottawa lost this game themselves & no one should be blaming the refs for it. Marty was typical Marty & played a good game & the Devils skated which they didn't do in game 1 clearly.
