I have been away for a while so I will slowly be coming back. Right now I am not placing any monetary wagers, just tracking results for another day or two or maybe longer until I feel comfortable again. I did find one nice play for today.

Tampa Bay +1/2 -120 over CUBS

Brazelton had a nice outing vs. a good hitting Angels team last time out. His stats are pretty poor but he has faced tough teams in each of his last three starts, which is a reason for that. Clement has just been terrible. Clearly they saved him for a day game (where he has had success in the past) against a poor team to try to get him righted. I think there is great value in getting 1 1/2 runs on the road against this pitcher at this price.

Looks like I am already showing some handicapping rust. The play here seems like it is the Under 8 -105. Brazelton, as I mentioned before, was someing off one of his best starts and he had faced good hitting teams (Texas & Anaheim) in his last three. Clement is a good pitcher in the day time and he had an extended layoff to try to snap him out of his slump. Even if the bullpens blow this one, there was always Under 4 1/2 -125 as a 5 inning play.

I know that this early analysis based on only a few innings of play may be premature but I am just trying to share how I am getting back into a baseball handicapping mindset after such a long layoff.

Can't handicap bad throws. I had the under. Oh well. Who the heck is Jason Smith anyways?
