A wise investor leaves his own preferences at the door.

A very wise investor once told me that your batting average and "home run" percentage on investments will probably be highest with companies where you are personally impressed with their products or services (i.e., John Deere, google, Wendy's, etc.; The Golf Channel and Titleist/Acushnet would also fit this investing model perfectly, except they are just little pieces of great big conglomerates) . . . You still have to do all your research on the fundamentals of the investment, and you still have to make other investments where you don't have the advantage of a strong attachment to the products or services, but I believe he is 100% correct when he told me your batting average and "home run" percentage on investments will probably be highest with companies where you are personally impressed with their products or services.

Panda Express is the best fast food restaurant there is. You can't invest on it as it is private and they don't sell franchises.
