So here are again. If you think the Iraqi war is a colossal mistake that is unjustifiably costing American lives and wasting hundreds of billions of dollars you are part of the Anti-American, code pink, liberal commie left.

---------------------------------------------------------------

no,my friend...absolutely not....i`m saying those that defend this obvious cretin, allow him to play on their irrational hatred of all and any thing bush.....and by proxy,america...

i`m saying you guys are gullible and myopic...

if bush cured cancer, you guys would figure out a way to turn it against him....and that grates on some of us....theres no middle ground...actually,no effort to even think....it`s always a kneejerk reaction...

now, hillary is taking credit for the success of the surge......yes...that`s right....

she said that things have turned around because the peeps in iraq know the dems are regaining power and they must act now...

that`s obviously insane, but, you guys just sit back and nod your heads...

out of one side of her mouth, she says that theres no political progress...and out of the other side, she takes credit for the military progress...when the military progress is obviously a result of:

a)more feet on the ground
b)a new strategy to take and hold territory and to aggressively rout al qaeda..
c)and the fact that the iraqis are finally sick of al qaeda and random violence....

d)and most importantly, our not cutting and running as she would like us to do....

if the iraqis rushed to some "political" solution, maybe an oaf could make that argument (as absurd as it seems)....

all i`m saying is that spytheweb sees gullible americans that are easily manipulated because of their inability or unwillingness to look at all sides of different issues...

bush is the devil...corporations are evil....bush and the joos conspired on 9/11....they blew up the dikes during katrina...ad nauseum....

btw...it`s off topic, but, whats really hilarious is how hillary is smearing obama (by proxy) by using the race card ON HIM....the dope card...even the dope pusher card....

and all the while whining and crying and playing the gender card herself.....

i said before,it would be worse ,imo, for conservatives if obama or edwards or the idiots richardson and kucinich got in....but,this stuff is way below the belt...and it`s annoying that she ALWAYS gets a pass....it`s really gutter crap they`re pulling...

nobody has a word to say about the obvious smear campaign they`re conducting on obama....

the martin luther king/lyndon johnson stuff...which is a smack in every black face..shucking and jiving comments/bill clinton saying obama `s a "figment of everyone`s imagiination"/the drug "dealer" references by billy shaheen and the head of b.e.t. network....

and they get away with it...on behalf of hill...she`s to smart to say any of it herself...

how about a little critical thinking...some objectivity...

it`s wrong...

GW,

I feel that the war was a big mistake predicated on lies, just like Lt. Gen. Greg Newbold and many others. So let me ask you this, GW,
is Lt. Gen. Greg Newbold myopic and gullible?

GW Thats the prob-anoymous/unverifiable posters-- can be anyone they want to be if it suits the situation-
The KOS/move on crowd all have "procalimed" ex miltary in their code pinko's ranks. Spy has as bout as much chance as having miltary backround as the guy the other day here that had friend that served in WW1-Korean War and Nam that said he take jail over Iraq.
I'll find day when I see him online in forum and pose question to him and see what his chances are of being military ;)

This is for all you non-military republicans.

Retired from the US Air Force on 1 Feb 1995.

Republicans think military people are to be used to better their bottom line. Bush uses them for photo ops, but you will never see his face in any background photos of his time in the NG, because he wasn't there. Even today Bush is shaking hands with the Saudis, people who blewup the WTC, people who are killing our soldiers in Iraq. Did you know Saudi sends more people into Iraq to fight Americans than any other arab country. Saudi people sends the most money to support the war against Americans. But that's ok because they're OPEC, and Bush's friends are making money.

This was a poll this weekend, 75% think this country is heading in the wrong direction, what do you think, do you like the way things are? If you do you will vote republican, again.

I just want to know how our soldiers dying is good for the country? Defense is one thing, providing protect for the oil industry is something else.

GW,

Don't lump me in with Spy. I am not interested in zionist conspiracies. I don't think Bush is the devil (just incompetent). I believe that we need to be weary of corporatism taking over our democracy but I am certainly not anti-corporations or capitalism in general. I just feel that the war was a big mistake predicated on lies, just like Lt. Gen. Greg Newbold and many others. So let me ask you this, GW,

is Lt. Gen. Greg Newbold myopic and gullible?

I think Bush is a dummy too, that's why the big money backed him for President. Here's a example: Bush signs the bankruptcy bill to make people pay back their debts. This bill is all one sided,

As Robert Reich points out in American Prospect, theres a double standard in bankruptcy law. While the recent bankruptcy bill makes it harder for regular citizens to declare bankruptcy, corporate bankruptcy law continues to allow large businesses to operate while sloughing off their obligations to employees and shareholders.

Corporations can declare bankruptcy and gain protection from creditors whether the underlying reason was a genuine catastrophe or sheer mismanagement. Under the new law, even consumers who face crushing debts because of genuine uncontrollable catastrophe (like a medical emergency) are denied the benefits of brankruptcy.

In the first quarter of this year, consumer spending represented 71% of TOTAL US economic output (GDP). Individual citizens drive the US economy, and whats good for consumers IS good for America. Citizens who face severe financial constraints because they have a medical catastrophe should have at least the same breathing room offered to corporations.

Individual citizens should be entitled to the same protections as large corporations.

If Bush had to choose a side, corporations or average American, he'll choose corporations every time.

Jabbers didn't say a thing about those with opinions of war---refer totally to the liberals/media intent to put troops/war in worst possible light to shore up their political objectives--ie making up story's if necessary--Heres NYT latest front page--

long version
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/13/us/13vets.html
condensed report
Sat Jan 12, 10:41 PM ET

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A study conducted by The New York Times has found 121 murder cases in the United States, which involve veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars following their return from the front.

The newspaper said that in many cases, combat trauma and stress from overseas deployment appear to have set the stage for the killings, along with alcohol abuse and family problems.

The research showed an 89 percent increase -- from 184 cases to 349 -- in the six years following the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan in the number of homicides involving active-duty military personnel and new veterans, The Times said.

About three-quarters of these cases involved Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.

More than half the crimes involved guns while the rest were stabbings, beatings, strangulations and bathtub drownings, the report said.

Twenty-five offenders faced murder, manslaughter or homicide charges for fatal car crashes resulting from drunken, reckless or suicidal driving.

About a third of the victims were spouses, girlfriends, children or other relatives, among them two-year-old Krisiauna Calaira Lewis, whose 20-year-old father slammed her against a wall when he was recuperating in Texas from a bombing near Falluja that severed his foot and damaged his brain, The Times said.

However, a quarter of the victims were fellow service members, including Army Specialist Richard Davis, who was stabbed and then set ablaze by fellow soldiers a day after they all returned from Iraq, the paper noted.

Three-quarters of the suspects were still in the military at the time of the crimes.

To compile the list, The Times conducted a search of local news reports, examined police, court and military records and interviewed the defendants, their lawyers and families as well as the victims’ families.

It said the study most likely uncovered only the minimum number of such cases, given the fact that not all killings, especially in big cities and on military bases, are reported publicly or in detail.
++++++++++++++++++++++++

Looking at this I see several things left out of equation--like these #'s are bad compared to what?

2 wars 4 years bout 200,000 troops/year
These # would have the ghetto dwellers/gangbangers looking like choir boys and probably general population--no time to check now--but sure there will be others checking this obvious attempt to put troops in worst light AGAIN by these liberal rags.

I thought it take only a day to expose them-
Wonder if NYT acknowedges they were caught again--distorting the truth on their assualt on our troops--

+++++++++++++++++++++
The New York Times published a lengthy article Sunday alleging that veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are responsible for 121 killings since their return from combat. The Times wrote the veterans have left ? "a cross-country trail of death and heartbreak."

But the Times did not compare its anecdotal statistics for military personnel against the averages for the general population. Powerline.com reports that the figure of 121 homicides out of a conservative estimate of 700,000 returning veterans over six years works out to a mere fraction of the national average for homicides committed by males aged 18 to 24.

The Times' figure for veterans involved in fatal automobile accidents is also not placed in context with members of the general driving population ? who are 12 times more likely to be involved in a fatality than Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.
