Anyone catch this, found it pretty interesting. Especially with the kid trying out his fathers credit card

The MGM mirage had a point with their brand name too. Can you imagine the money they would make - to think 90% of it comes from the US wow, we are all a bunch of degenerates :joke:

What I took from it was that the U.S. is crazy for not taking their slice of the pie. What was the figure they threw out there.......something like 1.2 billion/year the U.S. would get from internet gambling by regulating and taxing it.

You're just never going to convince people that it should be legalized......here in Ohio they're fighting like crazy to keep an Indian Casino from building a casino in Botkins (about 30 miles from me). All the ususal arguments of destroying families and so forth but of course I can drive 30 seconds down the road and buy as many lottery tickets as I want. It wasn't enough to have the Pick 3 and Pick 4 once a day so now they run that twice a day. Super Lotto a couple of nights a week, Mega Miliions a couple of nights a week, Buckeye Five 3 or 4 nights a week and countles Instant Lottery scratch off tickets ranging anywhere from $1.00 to $20.00......but God forbid we bet on anything else. Pretty hypocritical in my opinion. Personally, I'd much rather play blackjack than scratch off an instant lottery ticket but it isn't going to happen in Ohio.

We have the same here in Missouri, not to mention bingo that you can play 7 nights a week, and they juice you 50% right off the top. :mj07: :mj07:

We voted against it all a couple of years ago and we get the chance to vote again next year I think, you better believe that I will actually get in line to vote Yes that day!!

Yup, they start taxing winnings and the game becomes much harder to beat. Winning %'s needed to show a real profit would be very hard to obtain.

I watched it last night and found it pretty interesting. I always wondered why they advertise to visit xxx @ .net

The arguements that they made about why it is illegal are pretty lame.
1) you can't lose money if you don't put any out there. so it is not like you will start playing and end up broke. 'a friend' of mine plays for real money (I think he lives in Canada, yeah, canada), but I know plenty of people that just play with the fake money they give you

2) these 13,14,15,16 year old that are playing are getting credit cards somewhere, maybe their parents should be a little more involved

3) The arguement that it makes it easy for an addictive gambler to get hooked is a joke. It you are an addictive gambler, you are going to play somewhere. If yuo can't get it online, you will be at a casino or bingo hall. If you need a fix, you will get it.

Gambling on the internet is just like smoking or drinking, or buying porn. If you are over 18 (21 for alcohol), you (should) have the capacity to determine what is entertainment and what is over the edge. gambling on the internet is not like drugs, where they have statistics that it has negative affects on people.
