3 plays for today. Good luck.

TORONTO -116 over Kansas City 464/400

Asencio has really struggled and it appears that the Royals are headed for a slide after a recent strong run. Miller was absolutely killing in his last start (which I attended several months ago) but he does have good stuff. My main angle on this game is looking at a team that I feel is about to start a good streak against a team that has finished their good streak and is likely to start losing more.

DETROIT +220 over Seattle 400/880

Yeah, I know it is tough to bet that Seattle will lose two straight to the Tigers, but I look at Garcia?s road numbers vs. Maroth?s home numbers, plus the fact that the Detroit offense is hitting better right now than the Mariners? offense.

BALTIMORE -135 over Tampa Bay 540/400

Kennedy is a solid pitcher but he threw way too many pitches, walked five guys and faced 32 batters last time out. O?s have been spanked by the D-Rays all season and they will want this one with a hot Jason Johnson pitching.

I would also seem that if you are expecting a low scoring game, Det +1.5 +130 is a decent bet. Sea not scoring much, and getting the plus a half run with pos juice for a home team looks inviting.
I guess that's more guy like me who are too scared to bet on Det to win outright :)

It's not so much that I am expecting a low scoring game, just that I think that Detroit is in a good spot here. The runline may very well be a good bet but I've stuck to moneylines all season and I am going to continue to do so. GL tonight. Hopefully we'll both come out ahead.

good luck Nick ..

I remember u mentioned in one of the threads that it may have been better to take the dog on the runline rather than the moneyline .. Hope u get the Detroit win.

Regarding Toronto .. good luck. I like the Over .. shud be lot of runs scored. both the teams are prone to errors. Jays have been decent. Not sure which Miller may show up.

I am working @ client site and am right behind Skydome in Toronto. I can see the stadium from where I am typing this mail.
Today being Tuesday is Toonie Tuesday (Toonie = $2 Canadian)
So upper deck are $2 tickets and will mostly go to the game if i get my work done. Will be rootin for Toronto of course.

Good luck
Cheers !!!

# of faced batters - question

# of faced batters - question

Nick, or anyone:

where do you find the number of batters faced? ESPN.com always used to have them, but now they show something they call a "game score" instead of batters faced, for pitchers' recent histories.

thanks in advance for any info!

Apologies for not replying sooner. I generally use Yahoo for almost all of my recent statistical info via box scores. Sometimes I also use covers to find out info about umps or espn insider for home/away splits or pitcher vs. batter into. GL.

Gotta be happy with the 2-1 day even if the one loss was frustrating.

You know, it is funny, though. I think it is only because I am superstitious, but I can remember a number of times that plays have been "jinxed" by folks congratulating me before games have finished. I want to clarify that I am not blaming those folks in any way, but I just find it fascinating.

You know what I want as a favor from anyone who is up for it tomorrow. I want to try to beat this jinx by taking it head on. If you can remember this for tomorrow, I want you guys to post premature congratulations for my plays whenever possible. I mean, if a game is up 2-0 after a half an inning, I want you guys to say:

LOCK AND LOAD$$$$$$$. :firing: [The Man]

I am being completely serious right now. I just want to see what happens when we actually *try* to jinx plays that look good early. Thank you in advance to anyone who does this favor for me tomorrow. GL tonight.

can we prematurely bash your play if your team is down 0-2 in the 2nd inning?

Just kidding. :)

Nice night last nite, Nick. I am definitely looking forward to your NFL picks this season. GL tonite in the bases.
