Hello, all. jack is out today so i am posting my writeup here. I also posted thoughts on all the NFLX games for this week in the Forum.

8/22/01 Update

2001 MLB Record: 115-122-1, +5771

Yesterday: 1-1, +88 MLB

8/22 MLB Plays:

A split yesterday netted me positive money. Today I have two plays in baseball including a play on the early game.

Milwaukee +160 over CUBS 400/640

Basically this is a play against the Chicago bullpen. By my count, Heredia, Van Poppel, Fassero, Weathers and maybe even Gordon and Farnsworth to a smaller degree should all be unavailable or ineffective. I mean, check out the Cubs' box scores over the last four games. The carnage is staggering. Milwaukee's pen has really been solid with the addition of Coppinger and Leskanic coming into his own as a closer. Tapani has been weak in his last two starts as well while Chen's good stuff has netted him two straight outings with one ER or less and 6+ innings. Milwaukee's lineup is also hitting the ball better as Sesxon and Burnitz have really picked things up.

MONTREAL -104 over San Francisco 416/400

Basically this is a play on Javier Vasquez. He has a 20 inning scoreless streak going. Everyone always knew the guy had great stuff, but right now he is off the charts. With Strickland emerging as an effective closer, the bullpen has also been strong. The icing ont he cake is that Vidro is back, and the Expos are close to a .500 team with him in the lineup. Estes has been off in his last two starts. He did get the win last time out against Florida but he let up 3 ER in less than 7 innings. Montreal can hit lefties well so they should get enough runs for Vasquez here.

Ben, if it even gets played secondary to the weather, I like the over in the CUbs game. Also, do u like the Jays at all tonight at +115? Thanks, budro.

Six,

Good to see you here in bases. I saw that win you had last night. That was primo.

Man, Jays seem like the play there but I am just staying off Twins games altogether. I can't figure them out.

Only thing to worry about is that Loaiza gave up 10 hits with only one strikeout last time out. For a lot of pitchers, a lot of hits a few strikeouts shows that their stuff is a bit off. Then next time out sometimes they get rocked. I would say Toronto is the right side to be on but I am passing.

thanks for the advice. Any thoughts on that over? I know u haven't played too many totals and when u do they are unders. I like it because of the bullpen woes of the Cubs that u mentioned, I think Suzuki blows, and I believe that a South wind is blowing straight out. I'm still pondering it. Line is 9.5 and even for the over at oly. Good luck. *****just checked and the over is now +105 at several books. hmmmmmmm what's up?*******
