relates to gambling as well

when 80% of the people you know are on one side, that side wins 20% of the time

(although in this case 80-20 would be an improvement)

i'm in a bowl pool with 20 people using spreads prior to first bowl game a few weeks ago

when 16+ were on one side (4 or less on the other side) the plays are now 0-5

here are the losers:

rice -5.5 (17 people, outright loser)
ucla -4.5 (18 people, outright loser)
oregon st -3.5 (18 people, won but didnt cover)
tenn -4.5 (16 people, outright loser)
wake +10.5 (16 people, didnt cover)

of course i was on the first 4 and had wake in the pool but decided to go the other way tonight thru the man.....easy winner

fwiw 17 people have notre dame +8.5 tomorrow night, last pick that fits the profile
