Double-digit home dog with athletic QB that can make plays. Liked what I saw from UK in their last game against UT. I like them to be fired up for their home opener and hopefully can keep it within a couple of TD's.

Also, to use Scott's logic, Rich Brooks has to make something happen early or he may be gone by mid-season. So, I'm thinking he's gonna try and put some points on the board.

But hey, it's still Kentucky.

I'm a homer as well but Arizona is a nice selection at anything over 7 in this one. Stoops was able to slow down Utah last year (granted Utah was getting their feet wet but the same applies to this game) and it should be a little easier this year without their head coach or #1 QB. My only concern is Arizona's offense. . . the word that I'm hearing is that the offense is still very rough around the edges starting at QB. I believe this game will setup as a nice teaser. . . anybody have an idea what my two plays will be??? Should be obvious!

So. Cal
same as my wager nickel......

arizona and the under

think our offense will be slightly better with the defense being much better...as long as the offense doesnt implode (like it did at times last year)

Auburn under 38.5 is no longer a play for me. I'm doubling my bet on Auburn -6.5. (surprise) Tubby really wants this game bad to revenge the embarassment in Atlanta 2 years ago.

I really like those of your picks. I think your Tigers roll easily. Like others here, I love Miami against FSU.

I noticed you took MTSU. Personally I would stay the hell away from that game. Our offense could easily cover that spread. On the other hand, if it starts getting ugly, Shula will certainly yank Brodie so we do not have another WCU experience. Just my 2 cents. I would list it as a no play.

Anyway, good luck on your bets and on the year. :mj14:

Adding:
Memphis -2 BIG
Middle Tenn. St. +22.5

Adding:
Syracuse -2 BIG

We are thinking alike!!!

I am already down on Memphis, and I am going to be betting on Syracuse. I am just debating how many units. I also like Middle Tenn. St. and almost put 1 unit on them.

Here were a few highlights from my handicapping notes on Middle TN St.

Veteran team returning 8 on offense and 9 on defense. 54 letterman returning!!!! Only lost 15.

Midd. TN St. is 6-4 ATS vs SEC
Alabama is 4-8 ATS the last 13 years in season openers.

GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND!!!!

Middle Tennessee St. is based on my belief that Shula will take out key starters on offense in second half and MTSU does have a good passing offense that I think will backdoor cover for me late. I don't think this game will be close by any means, but I do think UA will pull back in second half and give up a couple of late scores through the air. I never bet much on or against UA, but i feel like 22.5 is a good enough value to make it a small play for me.

UA 34
MTSU 17 my guess
