" A Cadet will not lie,cheat.steal or tolerate those that do" Army football
Today the news was announced about the cheating scandal back in the fall about around 60 cadets all cheated on their math exam. I think 8 cadets were expelled and around 50 have to repeat the year. it was a calculus exam and they all had the same wrong answer. it was mostly plebes " freshmen" . The good news was I don't think anyone from the football team was involved ..Monken the football coach has really turned this program around.. He teaches a variation of the wishbone offense and because there is little pass blocking his offensive linemen can go up against the Michigans and Oklahoma's and on an even keel.. Last yr they went 9-2 and lost to West Vir in the Liberty Bowl 24-21 .
I worked summer baseball and basketball camp there right after the 1976 scandal were 100's of cadets were thrown out. I think it was a math test too.. Navy and Air Force also have had there scandals in the past. Its kinda sad but their standards are so high.. never heard of repeating a year as punishment ... but these kids sacrificed so much and are committed to I think 5 years after they graduate.
anyway got an email from my buddy this morning who works at the Point and sent me a news paper article.
He is my inside source at the Point who works in the athletic department. Do I get tips from him yep he is 0-55 .. no matter who Army plays he always says Army wins by 3 td's or more..
Monken does come back with almost 3/4 of his team back but it doesn't make a difference .. except for qb everybody is replaceable..and his 2 qb's went down this year with injuries and their replacements played well He now has 4 qb's back.. as long as they make sure they study for their math exam and don't answer the same question wrong
